What are they doing here?
no idea..... a new access to the apartments el cano (above CDM) and gardens? how about a pool and an extended terrace for CDM? a new building maybe?
erm, apparently cafe del mar plans to do a new bar there!!

as you might remember, last year ramón guiral, co-owner of CDM, opened a new restaurant called cafe del sol (next to il vaticano) and they also own the old building between CDM and savannah which is expected to turn into a bar in the future.....
according to diario de ibiza, the new building next to CDM will be used as the offices of cafe del mar music.....

HAve to say, I think the new promenade looks top notch - a lot safer too. Its a wonder that no one has slipped down the cliffs in the past. Question...does Mambo still have their beach? cheers

New Cameras
The Town Hall of San Antonio is to install five new video cameras in the municipality. The new additions will take the total number of cameras within the centre to twelve. During the last few years the cameras have transmitted their images to the central office, via ADSL. However this system has been beset by problems over the last few years, causing the authorities to change to radio frequencies this year. The cameras will be in the following areas, Passeig de ses Fonts, la zona del Mercat des Clot Mares, and the West End.

5-Star Hotel
The Town Hall of San Antonio has confirmed that it has received a building application for a small 5-star hotel within the municipality. The proposed land for the project is located behind the Marco Polo hotel at the entrance to the town. The mayor, Jose Sala, said that he would support the project whole-heartedly and thought that the influx of a higher quality of tourist could only be beneficial for the municipality. There are currently only two 5-star hotels in Ibiza at the moment, the hotel Fenecia in Santa Eulalia, and the hotel Hacienda in San Juan. However there are several more currently under construction including three in Ibiza Town - the National Parador, the Dalt Vila Parador (in front of the old Town Hall building) and the Hotel Sal in the new Casino. Exact details were still not available, and initially Sala could only reveal that a group of foreign investors were seeking permission to build a forty-room hotel on the land behind Es Paradis and Eden.

New Promenade
The mayor of San Antonio revealed that the promenade which was extended through Cala des Moro last year, will be extended this year on the other side towards es Pouet beach. The plan is to run the promenade parallel to the beach, using the pavement that is currently there, and part of the road. As a consequence the road will become one-way, like the rest of the Cala de Bou boulevard. The promenade will continue until the perimeter of San Antonio, joining onto the start of the boulevard outside Sa Flama bar. There will also be a wall built in front of es Pouet beach to give it more privacy. The project will begin in October, and is expected to cost around 750,000 euros.
