San An. .. I like it

I understand the earlier comments about the "black" women and guys, yes they are black (mostly from Senegal) and I know that post wasn't meant to be racist. Whilst I appreciate the horrific conditions on the boats they come over on (those that make it) to say they are just "trying to earn a living" is a little out of context as a) they are trying to earn a living illegally (most of the women are prostitutes and many of the men sell drugs) and b) they can get quite violent (the women at least) I have seen them attacking people after they have grabbed some guys wrist and engaged them in conversation then the guys have tried to leave.

Appreciate plenty of illegal stuff happens on the island, I have been party to it many times (and will continue to no doubt!) but when it causes harm to others and violence is used that's bang out of order.

Villas/beds in very short supply and over-subscribed in Season (no hotels) so unless you have a mate with a spare room ;) .... there are some decent spots on the road out towards Blue Marlin / up to San Jose. But likely nowhere you'd want to try to stay without a hire car as taxis finding these places an absolute nightmare.

I'd opt for Salinas as a good option too if you can find somewhere affordable with rooms. But there isn't really anywhere from Talamanca down to PDB which isn't utterly ruined, criminally overpriced or very difficult to deal with if you have a car. Basically why for all the downside of being 25 minutes across the island I always head back to San An area. If they sorted that appalling traffic-jam of a road from Ibiza to Sta Eularia I'd consider staying there instead, but in Season and even in June, the prospect of sitting in traffic is a big deterrent to going in to Ibiza town from that side. Good enough for heading North though :).

I like it in small doses. I just hate being pestered by both PRs and Looky Looky folks. Tbh PRs will leave you alone if you have a destination in mind though (Tropi usually)

Stayed in both San Ant and PDB

When push comes to shove I prefer San Ant great atmosphere, bars and lots to do, I love the sunset strip and all the small chill bars by the fountains. Of course it is a little seedy, I lost count of the ambulances and girls rolling along the floor outside the West End but it's cheap and cheerful. the looky looky men are fine if you say no, I don't however like the women trying to push bands on people by the Kiosk, that should be stopped.

I even went to Ocean Beach ....thought it would be full of meat heads and waif sticks but it was actually really enjoyable

I felt PDB was a little chavy this year, especially Bora Bora, the beach was in a disgusting state, people just leave their crap and go, a complete lack of morals. I don't think the atmosphere is as good or the bars.

Staying in Ibiza town for NYD Circo Loco, really looking forward to that

Ps. Dirk, to call Icoverdale's post racist is absolutely ridiculous, you need to seriously think about what you post bro, normally its good but that was just stupid.

Reports of Bora Bora / Jet general area have all been bad this year from ppl I know , my friends said they probably wouldn't be back to the island its just getting abit rough

Our 6th time here, got back Friday night after 4 days, stopped in San an, just me and the missus, had no agg whatsoever, in fact we never have. I never carry my wallet around, only cash I'll need for that particular day. Went up through the west end through the day and night, no bother. Now if someone was gonna get grief, it would be lad on his own or with a bird, Or vice versa. We like to walk about a fair bit, so we walk past numerous lookys and the women selling string, nothing. A simple no thanks will do. Tbh I'm more concerned about some of the dickheads/chavs the island has attracted over the years walking around like they got tins of baked beans wedged between thier armpits wearing baseball caps, air max trainers with socks ffs!! Who wears socks abroad with trainers??

Haha, that page is superb. There were a few with big thick trainers and grey socks pulled up as far as they could go ffs!! I felt the odd one out in some parts with my shorts, vest and flip flops.

Tbh I was gonna opt for a nice crombie but thought the bomber jacket would be more desirable to the younger West end degenerates. stay warm and look hot in Ibiza is the new attire fir next season. Lock up your daughters.

figueretas:
nightmare. too close to town. too much cement/buildings/construction.
water quality especially in main season more than questionable.
often no clear water, weird stuff floating under water.
ugly tacky boring beach.many strange people ...
i need a rental car and there is NO fckng parking in main season and even in pre/after-season their is also no parking available. if you find a spot finally chances are high that someone crashed in your car in the night and you have scratches/dents in your car because their is just no fckng space in that area.
to make things worse i can feel almost NO "ibiza-vibe" in that area , more like gran canaria or something like that ...

Well just got here and i have to eat my words.......parking is a nightmare and its the cool season!!! ive had to park almost a mile away up some track...god knows if its still there in the morning!

You were warned .... it's a terrible area for parking maybe you just got lucky before ;).

It's really busy for the time of year and don't forget 1/2 term holiday here & there too - I had to queue up for a parking space at Cala Llenya (packed with German families), and park way up the hill at Cala d'Hort (restaurants very busy) at the weekend. Stayed at Sunset Oasis Apartments in San An Bay and masses of private parking right outside the hotel. However, it was 100% occupied even mid-October. Decent place, that they're very nice and the Apt was a snip at £40 a night ! The "off season" was as busy in some areas as I've seen some mid-June periods a few years ago. But the roads seemed far less congested over most of the island.

Stayed in a few parts of the island now. Santa Eulalia is nice and enjoyed my stay there - very chilled and relaxed.

With regard to SA v PDB, stayed in both this year (first time in PDB). Both have merits but in PDB was constantly asked if wanting any goods when walking. Wears a bit thin after a while. As others have said though a polite no and there is no issue (applies to the bracelet women as well in SA).

Beach was nice in PDB and it was handy for Space, not sure I preferred to SA though.

SA definitely has an element of high jinx and scallywags but then again so do most popular tourist resorts. If it's not affecting you or spoiling your fun then let the young ones have their fun. Sure they can be a pain at times but ach it doesn't bother me really.

I think SA has more character and authenticity, that being said Ibiza town is excellent for a night out although not been there for a couple of years.

Future plans? Would I go back to PDB - wouldn't rule it out - but booked twice for the Gran Sol next year. Anyone for tennis?

A couple of years ago we were staying in Figueretas, had pre-booked a car, thought we could cope with the parking situation knowing what it was like, but it was impossible! Cancelled the booking. Was over that way a few days ago, the nearest we could find a parking space to Fig was by the Hotel Goleta.
There's always the new/old car park by Lux Mar I suppose; €1 per hour....
