Restaurant reviews

So chiringuito of Cala Xucla is a flop. I was alone on my tour today. Although there were free tables at 2.45 he said I should try again at 3.15, which I did and although there were even more free spots, they had to ask the boss whether it's ok now if I sit down. I did not feel welcome.

But the worst part was: I could not order any fish from the menu. There were several on selection, and the waitress said ALL of them were too big for one person, you need two people. Well, ffs buy smaller fish too, then. In all my years at fish shack they never told me sorry that fish is too big for one.
So today at xucla I ate the typical Ibizan dish of 'vegetable curry'. Oh, and 9 euros for some bread with olive paste was an outrage.

About the fish :they generally buy fishes from the north fishermen, and I have never seen a fish of less than 1kg at least(so very expensive for 1 person)...
I don't try to find excuses for them, I will ask them what happend...

Okay, I did not know that. It's just unfortunate, I was looking forward to fish, and I had a fantastic (one person) fish there years ago.

Wow do they really buy fresh fish from local fishermen, and not use thawed fish from a discounter? Are there more places like that on Ibiza? I would imagine most places using deep frozen fish - it's both cheaper and easier to maintain inventory, and most visitors wouldn't care anyway.

Balansat for example in San Miguel, Restaurante 2000 in Benirras.

Sabors Ibiza promote using Ibizan produce. They have lists of restaurants by town that they recommend. https://www.saborsdeivissa.es/

Anyone been to Unic? How was it?

I'm not reading the wow factor reviews like Es Tragon, La Gaia, Etxeko. I've been to all those three and they were all amazing in their own unique way.

We had lunch @Niu in Portinatx, and again, everything was perfect 👌
And this terrace is just the best of the village, you can't find a view like this somewhere else.

Been 3-4 times (although not since it got the star) - not the level of Es Tragon or Gaia.

Still need to go to Etxeko.
