... I swear someone is going round buying all the beach bar leases because they know they can charge high end prices. It is hard now to find decently priced beach restaurants. It is so sad.

Think we hit quite a few of the same ones again as they've become favourites but there were defo a few new ones this year. I'll check the memory banks (wife) and post up some info and cana pricing ;)

Quite a few repeats from previous years as some become favourites but here’s a quick summary of a few places we stopped off at this summer when we weren't stuck in the car at the Jesus junction.

Restaurante Cala Martina | Cala Martina
Fantastic fish restaurant right bang on the beach and always packed with locals. Sundays are rammed so booking essential.

La Bodega | Ibiza Town
Still very fond of this place. This has to be one of the busiest bars & restaurants on the island and the staff somehow stay sane, friendly and on form. Booking essential for outside tables.

El Bigotes | Cala Mastella
100% one of the most Balearic places to eat on the island! The man himself is still at the top table every single day and was in great form with our two daughters. Legendary. Book by phone between 11-1pm a few days in advance or more and then confirm again on the day between same times.

La Casita | Valverde, Cala Llonga
Beautiful setting up on the hill by Cala Llonga. Food was ok.

Restaurante Santa Getrudis | Santa Getrudis
Santa Getrudis is a great place to visit in the evening for families. Plenty of food options, safe pedestrianized area for children to run and play and keep and eye on them and this is a very reasonably priced restaurant serving perfectly cooked traditional fayre in the bustle of the square.

Flotante | Talamanca
We always try to get here every time. They do some great simple fish dishes and theres a lovely view across the bay.

Bar Costa | Santa Getrudis
Quite simply, the kings and queens of the bocadillos.

Balafia | San Juan Rd
MEAT! And a wicked tomato salad. And fantastic chips. Amazing. Essential. Booking required.

El Carmen | Cala D’hort
We had mainly been to Es Boldado over the years but went to El Carmen again last year and enjoyed it. So we returned, got the paella this time and it was sensational! Icey posted the opinion in this thread from someone complaining about being able to find beach restaurants that weren't charging high end prices. Considering your elevated view over one of, if not THE most iconic setting on the island; Es Vedra, this is a great value restaurant serving top notch food. Grilled or baked fish with potatoes, salad and a glass of wine or beer and your bill would be around €20-€22. Paella €45 for two.

Can Suleyetas | San Miguel
A quick stop off one day on the way back from the beach and what a place. So tranquil and a million miles from any mayhem. Great spot. As posted in the other North of the island tips thread; Montaditos, dos canas, dos soft drinks for the kids… all for €12.

Cas Pages | San Carles Rd
MEAT! Another essential visit. Great location, great food, great hosts. And great Hierbas. Take your pick from the meaty line up. The leg of lamb was a treat - sliced into steaks and grilled on the BBQ to perfection. Sobresada and other sides also superb. No bookings. No cards.

Comidas Bar San Juan | Ibiza Town
Its doesn't get much less frills than this place. Tins for canas and the wine list starts at €6.30 a bottle of house red. A very enjoyable, simple meal and the kids loved it. Extremely busy. About a 40 min wait for a table in mid July but they take your name and you can come back.

La Noria | Cal Boix
The house salad is superb to start. But the fish is the star here. Take your pick from a fantastic choice of dishes cooked to perfection. Service excellent. The view equally so. Again must have been around €45 for the paella. Glass of wine was I think €1.80. Beer couple of Euros.

Bar Llumbi | Es Cubells
Just stopped off for a drink and a salad and snacks on the way back one day. €7-9 for a salad. Very fresh and also a charming host. And that view! Fantastic location.

Forno Antico | Ibiza Town
Called in one night for tasty pizzas on a relaxed night into town.
