Home Loos just off the Fig prom is popular for tapas, they're OK l'd say but some people love them
I know what you mean about home loos....super nice people and very cheap but i thought the tapas was fairly average. It gets amazing reviews though. Prefered Tapas 43 Bar on the way from Fig to Ibiza Town.

great - thanks both - will be sure to check it out. place is very close to the apartment that i am staying in
Dont worry you'll meet the owner, dutch if l remember out grafting for customers on the prom every evening.. Eccentric type of guy and a good solid feed..

Yeah, the guy from Home Loos grabbed us off the street...was pretty funny. seem to remember a very attractive dutch waitress a few years ago too :)

Tapas 43 the owner is German i think. We were seriously suffering the day after Amnesia and he sat with us had a long chat about ibiza life...really nice guy.

Here is my yearly restaurant review :)

Sissi's Assador (Playa d'en Bossa): we go there yearly for a quick eat. Menu is huge - lot of choices. Service was really bad this year and food not that good too. First time I am disappointed.. not sure I will go there again. Normal prices.

Passion (Playa d'en Bossa & more now): best healthy spot I know... Healthy food, perfect fruit smoothies. I'm happy that they started building more Passion restaurants. Normal prices.

Sa Trinxa (Salinas): we went there numerous times this year as it is our favorite beach... I never was disappointed by the food. Service is good and fast. Music is great... Prices are ok (I recommend their Sangria de Cava Rosé ;-) )

KM5 (San Josep): we also go there every year... and twice this time because we wanted to show it with different groups of people. As always cocktails were perfect, food was incredible. Service was great also... A bit pricey but still a top address.
The weird thing is that it was not crowded at all... never seen KM5 so empty.

Raco Verd (San Josep): can't recommend more this place... we go there yearly. We went twice (one afternoon and one night).
Food is great - mix of mexican & tapas. Service is really good. Lot of locals... Often concerts at night. Prices are cheap.

105 by La Cantine (Ibiza Town Marina): we didn't eat there but we stopped for a drink. I wanted to put it on my list as the menu looked great and the place was beautiful. Great service also. Food looked a bit pricey but they wanted to do a french-style restaurant.

El Bucanero (Ibiza Town Marina): stopped there for late Tapas. Paella was good, tortilla was ok. Service was great (the guy was really funny). Normal prices.

Fish Shack (Talamanca): one of our favorites... Great fresh fish! Good service and nothing extravagant... just a typical small place. Prices are reasonnable. Try also their Café Caleta ;-)

Can Den Parra (Dalt Vila): wanted to try it as a second choice as another restaurant from Dalt Vila was already fully booked. Really calm & relaxing place. Food was good (I recommend their pasta with clams) and service was very good. Funny thing... they gave us a free hierbas chupito and they did put the bottle of hierbas on the table... They encouraged us to drink a few chupitos instead of one ;-) Normal prices.

Brisamar (Es Canar): we were looking for a quick lunch after the hippy market. We discovered this place. Nice location near the sea, food was good (mostly tapas and pizzas) and service too! And very very cheap!

Do not hesitate to contact me for more details :) We had a good time as always... and this time with our 7 months old baby :)

re can den parra and the hierbas bottle - this is something you get in a lot of traditional restaurants. they leave the bottle on the table and you simply drink as much hierbas as you like :)

I didn't know that :) I've been to many restaurants but from what I remember it is the first time it happened to me... Maybe I should do more traditional restaurants then :)

The group was happy as we are all fans of hierbas ;-)

Happens at loads of places out of season (La Bodega always do it - quite often with an array of spirits!). But suppose they're often too busy in summer.

Sick list..;) mr_sick. 2 for me to check out next month.

I still have a 9 pages list of places where I want to eat based on spotlight forum & tripadvisor ;-)

Maybe I'll do some in october when I come back for Space Closing...

Another two I forgot:

Herry's Bar (Ibiza - Plaza del Parque): we went there twice as we love to go to Plaza del Parque, more calm and relaxed than the center of Ibiza. Tapas were very good with big quantities (I recommend their queso de cabra frito). Sangria de Cava very good also. Service was very good with always some attentions for our little 7 months baby ;-). Normal prices.

Ciao Ciao (Playa den Bossa): we go there yearly for a quick eat before going out... Food (italian) is always very good but it was very noisy and service was really bad... We felt like we had to eat quickly to make the table available for the next group of people... But the guy at the entrance is very friendly. Quite cheap restaurant...

Kumharas - Very overated. No fish or curry on the menu, asked for a well done steak yet got medium and was gone in 3 mouthfulls. Wether it was in sept or not we pay good money will still expect a good service if they are all tired out then dont open. But good choice of cocktails and to watch sunset but food wise. 3/10

Ritas - brilliant breakfast always worth a visit. 10/10

Grill San Antoni - spanish restaurant just off a side street in the west end, 3 courses €10 and was the best food i had during my trip, i had chicken wings with grilled potatoes thrown in and was lush it fell off the bone it was that delicatley cooked. 10/10

Koppas/ Red grill - basic food but done the job and quite cheap, 6/10.

I did think that and was twitchy at the time, I had Ox steak wether that was meant to taste smooth and chewy in the middle I'll never know!

There's much better food at a fraction of the price at the little cafe on your left as you walk down to Kumharas (forget the name). It's nothing fancy just half-chicken & sides etc. but last time I ate there a full meal with beers was about 10 Euros. The snacks at Kumharas on the terrace are OK but pricey. Probably best to stick to drinks !

Only three worth mentioning from my trips this Summer :

Babylon Beach Club, Sta. Eularia - Was absolutely starving mid-to-late afternoon and just made last lunch orders for a quick refuel. Had a smoke-infused fillet steak with the usual dainty veg accompaniments. Got to say it was probably the best-tasting fillet I've had in years, cooked pretty rare and literally melted in mouth Don't know what the rest of the food is like but was more than pleasantly surprised - had expected the usual astronomically overpriced mediocre over-worked rubbish you get so many places nowadays. Service was fast and friendly. Forgot how much I spent think it was all about 40 Euros with soft drinks.

Amante Beach Club, nr Cala Llonga - Couldn't fault the setting, view or welcome turning up alone 2nd September with no booking for earlyish lunch. Given a table right by the clear safety panels at the end of the top level. Had Lomo de Bacalao with a side of Asparagus and two of their lovely non-alcoholic cocktails (New York & Ibiza Sunshine). The cod was OK - I'm not a huge fan of it but the huge whole sea bass which I did really fancy was an order for 2 so that wasn't going to work for lunch. Might have managed it for a dinner . With cover was in all about 60 Euros which is pretty par for the course. Service was relaxed, one of the reasons I don't often take time out for lunch as I'd rather be out and about than hang about a beach club in the day for more than an hour at most. Swim & snorkel on the doorstep after bill was paid though, which was nice.

On the Beach, Cala San Vicente - Loads of parking. Wound up here after trying to check out Hidden under its new ownership, which is now only open for private functions it seems. Lovely informal beach lunch ... Parmesan, pear & rosemary sandwich, with fresh wild berry and acai smoothie. Very affordable. Would go back. Nice beeak from the elements - it always seems to be windy at Cala San Vicente :!:
