Bloody hell, you’re a right little ray of sunshine aren’t you
I think you should stop being so melodramatic about the whole thing, we are literally a day or two in. Give it time.
I’m a strong believer in judging a man by his actions. Give Keir Starmer time and see how he fares. (Personally I think he’s going to be a train wreck)
It’s no secret that I’m not his biggest fan, he certainly didn’t get my vote, but he has been handed a pretty poisoned chalice here with the PM job. A shit sandwich, some would call it.
Domestically, he’ll soon face the doctors unions demanding their big pay rises. And probably the railway staff. Amongst many others that are under the idea that they are now going to be living in a Labour utopia. I think the stage is set for an epic showdown somewhere along the line.
Immigrants- France is looking at a far right government. They won’t be happy to accept failed asylum seekers back, which leaves Starmer with a problem about what to do with them. Keep them here? That won’t go done well with the electorate. The boat problem isn’t going to magically disappear into thin air now that the Tories are gone. This will be a continued headache for any government. Keir Starmer will need to get some tangible results on this front.
Meanwhile his Labour Party promised change and to make things better. The British public are already fed up with useless politicians and I can’t see Starmer having too much time before the knives come out. Starmer has struggled to control his own house for years, I think his biggest enemies will come from within.
In short, he’s spent years being the guy on the side line telling us he can do better. Captain Hindsight as he was known. Now he’s got the top slot it’s time to walk the walk. His own captain Hindsight, Nigel Farage, will be ready to shoot him down on every flip flop or back peddle he makes.
I will say similar for Farage. He’s been making a lot of noise the past few weeks and has built a pretty impressive following in a short time. Now his time has also come. We can judge him by his actions and the people of Clacton will hold him to his word. He’s another guy shouting from the sidelines, although I think he’s struck a chord with people by being very straight talking and upfront. He models himself as some kind of anti establishment and man of the people, which he probably isn’t. I look forward to the scrutiny he receives in Parliament and him spending his time in Clacton.
Interesting times we are living in.
Im going to give it time and see how it all pans out.
