Overcrowding

Space was perfectly busy for me last night, plenty of people for a good atmosphere, enough to space to dance and have a good time. And I certainly had a good time, The Black Madonna on the terrace was the best clubbing experience I've had, music absolutely spot on for my tastes, danced like I was the only one in the club, loved every second of her set.

Sundays at Space was a lot less packed than I was fearing. Plenty of room to dance and get served at the bar.

Really good music all night and a friendly crowd too.

@stivi where is the best place to be on the terrace in amnesia to dance and enjoy without being rammed next to each other regarding music on? I read a thread a few weeks back for this with dc10 but cant remember if you did it for amnesia. I have mastered Space its just amnesia....

Gracias

Care to elaborate on Space? ;)

Or is it the old down front right?
thats the norm i think from reading on here....i used to love it when you could get round the back of the dj box, had a very good sunday evening watching jeff mills blast through his records for a couple of hours, not sure if that is still the same there now, good old VIP

Discoteca down at the front left just infront of the vip tables and near the toilets I found to be good. Jon Rundell was on at the time so was nicely busy with plenty of space to dance stayed their many a time over the years. Or if you arrive late just as you enter the discoteca from the sunset terrace walk straight on and theres a bar which i stood near during coxys set and had plenty of room but its abit further back which is why i think it was a decent spot as everyone obviously wants to be nearest the dj, also i waited an hour after Cox came on to avoid the rush so the room seemed settled.

This wasnt on stivis advice just years of finding the right place and alot of hustle and bustle

I have seen ppl ask to get past so i politely move then they stand in the exact spot i was in before moving!!! it definitely gets more annoying moving for ppl in pointless places the older we get...

well with music on it's a hard one simply because it's the most rammed one at amnesia by a country mile. I think for music on best to be at the back of the terrace close to the bar

Not been to Ibiza in a couple of years now but going again on 2nd sept. Whats it going to be like for solomun on the 4th Sept and Carl Cox on the 6th sept. Will it be stupidly busy you cant move, for the both of them?

Yes to both I should imagine, that night is proving to be a solid one so expect it too be busy. Carl Cox will be rammed solid

The best place to dance in both space discoteca, Terraza and also cocoon terrace are right down the front under the dj booth. You are in the thick of everything but there is always space in this area in my experience even when you can hardly move your arms in other parts. I think it may be because you can't see much of the dj or take countless videos.

This also works in dc10 terrace if you can get there but it doesn't work out in clubs where you are on a level with the dj. For example at vagabundos in pacha a while back I was crushed with all the loonies trying to get lucianos attention.

The reduced opening hours isn't helping the overcrowding either, people who would normally leave an hour or 2 early will stay knowing it will be over at 6.30

Opening hours do not influence overcrowding. Overcrowding starts at the door and can only be solved there.

One easy way would be the ban of pre-purchased tickets.
Visitors are as greedy as club owners. You paid €50 for your ticket you go in no matter what happens. And the club owners off course take everything they can.

1st, If you can only pay at the door it is much easier to overlook the number of sold tickets. If the maximum capacity is reached, no further tickest will be sold unless someone leaves. Same system like in a parking garage.
2nd, As soon as people see the 200m long queue at the door, some turn around an leave.
3rd, To avoid the queues at peak times peolpe will come erly, which means they are wasted more earlier and leave therefore earlier. Reduced contact with schoolkids or workers in early morning public transportation.

clubs are never going to do this. they like to have assured income, pre-purchased tickets are exactly that.
