Manumisson Movie/motel...

It isn't the Manumission Hotel any more. 2001 and I think last year they were running a webcam website type thing with a lesbian domination dungeon 8O 8O 8O This year it's all been done up but don't know what it's like.

As for an elaboration on my DC10 incident. I wish I could remember so I could tell you. But it did involve a night at Base and a load more drinks after that including half a litre of blackberry schnapps buckets of vodka coke/red bull etc and me falling over and taking a load of people with me... It's been pretty well documented (mostly by people who weren't there)... It even made it onto the sleeve of Disco Kandi 5 CD and the Vinyl...

Although I've never been, I remember some of the hype when it opened;

All the rooms were decorated differently with a distinct theme and really cool/wierd decore plus had playstations etc. Before being the Motel it used to be a brothel. Before long (if not for the whole time) it became pretty much pesonal invite only and therefore pretty exclusive. Not somewhere you could book thru Lunn Poly.

Between my poor memory and perchant to belive anything I hear, there is potentialy not a shred of truth in the above comments though, LOL :)

okay - more info:

Situated in the centre of the island, this building spent many
years functioning as the local brothel before Mike and Claire Manumission
decided to buy the place, give it a quick re-fit and turn it into the most
fashionable place to stay on the island.

Taking only 8 days to decorate, the results are absolutely astounding. A
group of Europe's most notorious and talented graffiti artists were flown in
to decorate the corridors and each of the rooms have been decorated in
an their own individual style of 70's kitsch. Think waterbeds, lava lamps
and bathtubs big enough to house a party of six.

The ethos of the hotel is to continue the Manumission party, party, party
spirit. This is a place for people who stay out all night and crash all day,
and should you feel like a night off, all the rooms are sound proofed so
there's no chance of being disturbed.

It comes as no surprise then that the hotel boasts a client list consisting of
world class DJ's, supermodels, fashion designers, film producers and the
general club land glitteratti.

Unfortunately every day punters are not allowed through the doors, in
order to get a room here you have to be invited Mike and Clare. A strict
door policy perhaps, but if you do manage to get a room, you can be
guaranteed the time of your life.

you couldnt just book rooms on your own?
uhhh, no wonder they had to shut it down :cry:
