Yea. I met my first dealer there. Manumission was massive. Then about 10 years later I had my Aussie mate and went to tiesto. It was mentally crammed. Then the last time I went was suprmatxe and it was clear it had gone a wee bit down hill. Still liked it though. Hope they do something good with it.

They said they had capacity of 10,000 (hence the biggest nightclub in the world title). That night it was certainly about that

Went to Radio1 approx 10 years ago and it was a sellout with 1 in 1 out, was great to see it at it's full capacity, though getting a drink was a quest!

Going back to the point about live music, how is Mallorca able to get all these guys over but not Ibiza? What is so different about the infrastructure? Feels like a massive opportunity missed, no?

Wonder how much of the original structure they will retain, and will the iconic pool remain too? I always liked the garden out the side of the main room, and also the dome is a very unique chillout area in Ibiza!

Be a nice touch if they did call it Ku again, as a nod to its roots, and to all the history it holds, Freddie Mercury, Manumission etc etc I really hope its not just another Ushuaia, but then what would pull in the crowds these days all the way over to San Rafeal down that little track, Priv seemed to be struggling in its final years, with maybe only 1 or 2 at a push nights a week that pulled in the crowds, at least Es Paradis which I think also suffers in the way doesn't have the issue of getting the people in, they must do well from passing trade, Privilege doesn't have that luxury!

10 world class clubs that no middle aged belle & sebastian fan would even have heard of, no? A totally different audience, primarily Spanish probably for most of the artists, and unlikely to step on any toes, esp for a one-off weekend with no real overlap. If the island is pitching for a more affluent, less clubby crowd, more festies of this kind seem inevitable esp wealthier people flying in for the occasion. I know we discussed it all before but i know people who will travel just about anywhere for a festie.

Ibiza Rocks were sucesfully doing Indie gigs about 15 years ago but then Rock took a nose dive commerically, and I beleive the costs of shipping equipment over is high.

But id like to see some live acts on the island to offer something different, theres only so many nights these tech house DJs can do surely...
