Make Privilege big again

10 world class clubs that no middle aged belle & sebastian fan would even have heard of, no? A totally different audience, primarily Spanish probably for most of the artists, and unlikely to step on any toes, esp for a one-off weekend with no real overlap. If the island is pitching for a more affluent, less clubby crowd, more festies of this kind seem inevitable esp wealthier people flying in for the occasion. I know we discussed it all before but i know people who will travel just about anywhere for a festie.
There are already some who have tried to create a festival in Ibiza over the last 2 decades, it doesn’t work in Ibiza! Ibiza is not made for that and the island don’t need it either imo

They had some other strange things on the island. I remember Ibiza bike week. Dont know what they thought , when they established it. Was not very long , I remember. Some things are not working in Ibiza.

Sports events are working very well in ibiza since a few years, mountain bike Tour (last weekend), marathon, etc...

Didn't DC10/Circoloco try to put on a festival type event one year at a race track? Or am I imagining that?

That 123 Festival 10 or so years back seemed to be a hit, not sure why they didn't do that again, or the open air event MTV put on in the old quary

Some more photos, wonder if they will make it open air like the festival in the last photo? But then what edge would it have over ushuaia,

Big crane there now aswell so seems all go.

due to the new steel going in I would assume what's still standing will remain?

Privilege, the world's largest nightclub with a capacity of 10,000 (!) people, is currently undergoing extensive renovation after being acquired by Grupo Matutes, the owner of, among others, Ushuaïa, Hï, and the Palladium Hotel Group. The entire complex will only reopen in 2025 and will be used not only as a nightclub but also as an event and concert venue."

Its alive! 🧟‍♂️

seems the existing structure has been supported with new steel in the roof and supports instead of it getting knocked down

Good decision its an iconic building. Be a good idea to make a flexible layout inside tho, need a small club, medium club (ala Vista) and megaclub only to be used a few times a season

i think they will go with this model, maby even a outside area mini Ushuaia vibe?, or just a a partially retractable roof? sure they will try some sort hotel if they can get away with it aswell.
not getting my hopes up for anything good coming of all this though, but surely someone somewhere must be warning them not to make the same mistakes twice, but then again ££££ talks and i suppose Hi and Ushuaia probably make more now than space or privilege ever did.

I think there's still room for a huge club for a few huge crowd offs like Radio1, dare I say it...Fred again.

But it's how they cope the other nights of the year that's the key part, even getting 2k in the old privilege felt dead and word easily spreads that. a night is 'quiet' hence needing a clever layout

The cut down version used to work on occasion- thinking Spinclub or even some of the Meganites. But sometimes it was just soulless when quiet.

Yup totally agree I think a Massive room for use once a month or a couple times year, with a curtain similar to amnesia or other club rooms/ areas that can open independently .

We have all saw like it or not Kienemusic etc selling out recently , I think ATM closing party tickets for Hi are 150? Add in the likes of fred again, David Guetta, R1 ,resistance ? and maby the odd concert?.

what im now thinking is there going to need to pull out some big names to compete with there Hi residency's, but could also be why everything was kept so similar there this year.

So just really the skeleton left of it now 😂

I know nothing about construction, but I assume the main beams were all that was worth saving? Or is this some legal thing where you have to keep a % of the original structure?
