Losing that beer belly in time for Ibiza

What is eating normally though? To a lot of people eating normally is an endless stream of burgers and chips. I agree that you don't need an extreme diet to be healthy and maintain a healthy weight, just a bit of balance and thought. I eat what I do as I push my body and it seems to help.

I don't think Fiefighter was telling others to drop egg yolks. I just don't think he personally wanted to eat 42 yolks a week!

You're absolutely right...HAHA!! Not to mention, I'm not a big fan of the yolk to begin with. Its just my personal preference. It works for me. :D

It is a shame I have a job interview for a position I am desperate for on May 31st. Otherwise I would be jumping on a flight to come and buy you a few eggs on the island (and try to sneak a place at the table in VIP at Pacha!)

Yeah, that is a shame. The more the merrier, ya know? BUT, good luck with the interview!!

I generally have on a work day

for breakfast: tinned grapefruit + bowl of muesli

elevensies (): 2 fingered kit-kat

lunch: cheese/tomato roll

daytime snacking: up to 4 pieces of fruit

dinner: varies as I'll often not eat meat/fish, but usually 3 portions of veggies included and there will be pasta/rice/noodles or potatoes

after dinner: maybe 1 biscuit with my coffee

I mean 'normal' as in eat the whole egg, not cut every single bit of fat/skin off the meat and include some carbs. ;) I eat quite lightly, but I never really feel like I'm on a diet or that I'm starving. My main vice is weekend boozing.

I just eat when I am hungry, not really sure why I should be aiming for three meals a day. On the three days I do MMA I will also add food before and after. All I know is; I have enough energy to train, work and look after my daughter, no episodes of flu since I started, I can make weight more easily and I enjoy it. Each to their own really, it seems to work for me.
I have no problem with how many times per day that you eat if that's what you want to do. I was just pointing out that you don't really have very much long lasting energy.

A proper paleo diet isn't a fad but some of the modern versions of it may be. Really it should be based on the original human diet. Nothing faddy about that because we are humans after all.

Here's a head scratcher for the experts, I am totally shocked.

6' tall, on the scales this am @ 5:30, weighed 14st 1/2lb

Had a coffee and green tea before the gym, burned 320 cals on x-trainer, did a few piddly shoulder presses, drank approx 2 pints of water during the training / sauna / steam room. Finished another cup of ginger tea on the way home. Had a no2, and was keen to see if I was below 14st. Was in fact 14st 2 1/4lb! I really cannot understand this, obviously taken on a lot of fluids but also got rid of some of the fluids again.

OK, just read one pint = 1 1/4 lbs8O Never realised water was so heavy.

So getting on the scales immediately after getting up will usually give a 'kinder' result due to dehydration.

thats why its pointless to obsess about weighing yourself (not you personally). It varies quite alot through the day. Best thing is to weigh yourself at the same time in similar circumstances each time and maybe every 2 weeks

A weigh in once per week to log progress will be my objective.:D

Whilst reading about the water, read that one pound of fat = 3,500 calories. That's a damned lot of work on the x-trainer / treadmill!

Thats true. A person's weight can fluctuate by as much as 3 - 5 lbs. on a daily basis.

I'd say you're about right. I'm sure it's not recommended to weigh yourself everyday anyway, due to your weight being in constant fluctuation.
Well, no, they don't recommend it. But it serves a purpose.

Eg. If you're fluctuating in the 79-81 kg range, you know you need to cut back. If you're in the 77-79 kg range, then all is well :D

You're unlikely to have 'put on weight' in a day, though. If you weigh yourself everyday, fluctuation is more likely to be down to when you last ate, how hydrated you are or when you last took a dump (or not).

Most dietary advice I've read says once a week is sufficient.
