So Tiff, how did the Covid checks go last night? Me and everybody else around assumed they were taking place at the end of the car park queue, hence why it was so slow. But that didn't turn out to be the case

So did they do the checks on the door? How thorough were they?

They checked right at the front door - scanned the barcode with a proper scanner thing. Then temperature checked before being able to go and buy a ticket.

Bit late for a temp check after hanging around with 100's in the queue for 5 hours but hey ho

I was in Brussels last Friday for a big rave, I had the same problem. 1h30 in line to enter, the problem was the Covid check. 15,000 people at midnight at the entrance is not easy to manage. At least the organizers apologized publicly and the next evening for the 2nd day the line was 15 to 20 minutes. I just hoped that the circoloco organizers will apologize on their networks (that's the least of it) and find a solution for next week. otherwise well, this kind of people really take us for idiots

Seen on Facebook in recent hours that some people didnt get in (capacity limit reached?) and then some others who tried to get in with an antibody test result, got turned away and then snuck in anyways. Yay.

Reality check: No clubnight - I repeat - NO clubnight anywhere with any lineup whatsoever is worth waiting 4-5 hours and paying 80 euros. With all the discussion about waiting times, no one mentions the complete ripoff that is 80 euros on the door. Don't remember any other country where clubs had to charge 80 euros upon reopening because it was such a hard time for them. And remember - dc10 doesn't pay DJs their usual fees. All in the pockets of the Italian boss-clowns.

The owner of the property is Spanish 😉

Yeah 50euro, it does seem to be out of step with everywhere else. I don't remember any talk of venues in the UK price gouging so CircoLoco definitely trading off their monopoly at the moment

Oh! My bad. I had it in my head that it was more spenny.

Yeah - I guess they’re trying to get money any which way then.

I thought €40 for Eden on Thursday was a bit on the spenny side too tbh.

Read about this too but to be fair, I think it's not comparable.
Rave Rebels is a fairly new party right? They had one previous edition and this location in Brussels is also new. They had normal ticket sales, the party was sold out and they published all the requirements for this event on their socials. However they apparently made a big mistake with too little covid QR checkpoints, security freaked out and treated people badly. And the organization corrected it the next day and made apologies.

Circoloco/DC10 are not a new organization, they are experienced in hosting large crowds and they just KNEW the whole island and people from abroad would come for this event. Then they decide not to sell tickets and just let people stay in line for hours while letting their friends and VIPS get in front of the line. My feeling is that they purposely wanted to create this hype and don't really care about the people in line and won't apologize at all.

There have been major events in Belgium, the UK and The Netherlands already that went fine. I attended events in both Belgium and The Netherlands the last few weeks and all I experienced was smooth Covid checks, no extreme waiting times and friendly security.

My apologies if this steers a bit off topic of "impressions of Ibiza", just wanted to comment on the comparisation with Brussels. Also, @greg1183 I don't mean to downplay your situation in Brussels, I read some stuff about it and I can imagine it really puts you out of the mood to party. Read that some people experienced unfriendly behavior from security too. But it's kinda strange that it happened in Brussels, since Extream Outdoor, Solomun 6 hours and all events at the Atomium had no issues at all.

Wasn’t circoloco always around that price?

when I started going to circoloco it was like 25 on the door, but then again this is over 15 years ago.

2018 and 2019 the standard price in the season was 50€ on the door.
the opening, the closing and the anniversary party midway through the season had been 70€ for a few years now though. I know because those dates are the only ones I usually get to pay (and I'm happy to).

I'll put up a full report about my experience of last night later. in the meantime, no more non-ibiza talk in this thread PLEASE.
