impressions & observations from ibiza 2021

I’ve never known taxis to be such a problem in Ibiza. Even our hotel (Es Vive) is struggling to book them and previously, you’d never wait more than 5 minutes for a taxi.

If you know you’re doing something specific the next day etc, I used this for a 5am taxi to the airport and they were perfect and 10 mins early

Thanks, that's very helpful to know.

Es Vive tried twice to book us a taxi and nothing showed after 30 minutes. Thankfully the hotel driver became available so was able to get us to Pikes, or we'd likely still be waiting!
 
Due to the ripoff that is rental cars this year (I pay 70 a day compared to usually 15 euros pre corona!!), I thought about doing taxis for the first time on my trip. But because of the experiences of you guys here I took a car now. Not worth the hassle when on holidays.

We have reserved at Adam Beyer (restaurant), 150 p. p., 2 days before the event cova informed us that the price is 250 p. p. :) But we went anyway. ;-)
 
Anyone know of any bars that will be good for the footy in Bossa this year? Got my first full day on Saturday. we are going to head to Ushuaia for day on the beach. But Liverpool’s first game of the season is on at 18:30 and I can’t bring myself to miss it. So anywhere along the strip that will have it on? I used to go the sport cafe by sankeys but it’s a bit of a walk back on oursleves. Has anyone tried the sport bar in the hard rock?
 
out of interest, is anyone currently fusing DJing and live music or performance art? am thinking Dalias maybe? I know locals Ian and Nellee from Fonoteca were doing this around the bars, Lenny Ibizarre maybe if he's still about? also what's Benirras like this summer?

Saw this guy SanRa at Noura on Monday evening. He plays Las Dalias. Mixing plus looping his own vocals, got his own flute

Would've been nice to see him in a setting a bit faster paced than a restaurant

Sports bar in the Hard Rock is great, good selection of beers and they've loads of screens so will usually stick on whatever you want. I'd imagine the Liverpool game will be on most screens anyway though unless there's a direct clash with a big La Liga game.

Murphys used to be my footy in Bossa bar, but unsure if they still show it since they 'updated' their offering

I've watched football at Tantra a few times too which is conveniently about 2 minutes over the road from Ushuaia - might be worth a try!
 
Cova Santa last night was great! I thoroughly enjoyed myself
Hernán Cattáneo b2b Nick Warren was as magical as I hoped. They started at 21:00 and ended dead on midnight. Of course, they had the momentum to carry on if they were allowed
Our table was on the rooftop and we got sat right next to both of them. We briefly exchanged hellos before they headed to the stage. Really approachable, down to earth guys
The food was all great: tomahawk with this amazing herby butter (I guess chimmichurri but thicker) and octopus tentacle with sobrasada 👌
And the service was really faultless
Venue also looked great. Strong claim for The Soundgarden to do more events here in future. They been homeless since Km5 closed, but I think it's a great fit
No camera policy not as strict as Ushuaia. You are still allowed to take selfies if you wish. Only the forward-facing camera is stickered. Saw a few people breaking the rule and record some videos but they were quickly stopped by security

If you've got the money for this, you won't be disappointed. Pick the right line-up and do it! You want to be seated on the Main Floor for best experience. Was quiet up top but luckily we did manage to get closer to the action later on
