Magaluf and ibiza is impossible to compare, at least for the moment, hopefully...
But the way ibiza is going now is worrying me, more bling-bling every day...

I agree with you mate but when you said Ibiza is about bling bling what do you mean by that?

Type Ibiza 2016 blog into YouTube search and its full of body building geordieshore wannabe types who claim to have 'smashed' and/or 'rinsed' every club/bar/cafe/beach/girl they come across. They seem to attend various venues because they have to but don't seem sure as to why. Social media means nowhere is secret or safe from these people, so I fear that Vegas, Dubai, Ibiza, Marbella will get more alike as time goes on

spot on mate. For most I seem to come across its Ushuaia , Ocean Club , Cafe Mambo are the must dos. I would argue only Mambo has anything that I class as real Ibiza feel to it, and that largely went awry when they put that promenade in!

Nilsatis? Fellow bluenose I take it?

Ushuaia, ocean beach etc are no go areas for me now, to the point where I even missed out seeing norman jay one year!! Hopefully the goon squad will have vacated by 7 Oct when I get there.

I think what irks me most is being someone with money to splash is a different thing to being someone very important. The turnover of the island to the wealth displaying culture is sad to see

yes mate, for my sins ;)

always been celebrities and the rich on ibiza, but they largely fitted in to the way of the island and its inhabitants. Now, more and more venues giving the rich and faux rich chance to show it. Creating us and them situation. Doesnt help the vibe at all.

Went to vegas and ibiza last year and would hav done both again this year if hadnt been at the euros. Cant compare them. I go2 ibiza for clubbing and beaches. Vegas has far more to do as far as activities go but as for clubbing it doesnt compare for me. I went to see pete tong only to be told that night was cancelled because they hadnt sold enough tickets for it and rather than open that night the club would rather shut than not make enough bar money. Was told calvin harris was playin later in the week so theyd sell that out. Club was sls. Every other club that week had likes of dj snake, tiesto, calvin harris. All edm.

You couldn't pick two more different places to compare on the planet. The only real things they have in common are they have an airport and there are clubs there. I've been several times, and don't mind it really, but it's very different from Ibiza.

Here's a brief rundown of the Vegas experience:

- It's in the middle of the desert. In Summer it's 40-45 degrees C in the heat of the day.
- Clubbing isn't the #1 draw. Gambling destination first, entertainment (including clubbing) second. I will say there's a ton more to do there than Ibiza, and the food overall is very, very good if you go out looking for quality. And that doesn't necessarily mean expensive, you can eat well on any budget.
- Clubs host top EDM and Hip Hop talent (which is fine, I do like some EDM DJs). Every once in a while Daylight/Light (Mandalay Bay Casino) will bring in someone a little more off the beaten path, i.e. Coxy and Above & Beyond. Otherwise there is absolutely no underground/techno scene to speak of.
- Vegas is most known in the states for the pool parties - that's kind of the unique experience there. Think Ushuaia but a bigger pool that you're actually allowed to swim in. Pool parties run from 11am-7pm.
- Vegas clubs shut down between 430-5, for the most part. Most of the time you have to find an "afterhours" (strip club, smaller lounge) to have a true dusk-dawn experience.
- All about the glitz/glamour/VIP. Clubs like Marquee and Omnia leave very little room for people who aren't bottle service.

I liken Ibiza more to Playa Del Carmen/Cancun, Mexico or even Miami than Vegas, really.

I everybody I'm new to this forum (but a true Ibiza fan don't worry).

I think this discussion is pretty interesting (I've been to Vegas 10 times...) so I would like to restart it.

In my humble opinion, here are the major differences between Ibiza and Vegas (which makes it incomparable) :

1) People use a lot less drugs in Vegas (and I mean a lot less (normal in the US...))

2) At 11 PM the big clubs in Vegas are already jam packed (the major DJ of the night usually start playing at 1:30 AM...)

3) The music in the clubs in Vegas is a lot more "pop" (never techno, rarely true House)

4) I guess the production is bigger in Vegas clubs (but who cares, the vibe is never as good as in Ibiza clubs (in my humble opinion))

5) The clubs are a bit less expensive in Vegas (entry and drinks) and it’s even truer for the ladies (they pay less to get in the clubs)

6) Clubbing is just one thing to do in Vegas (shows, concerts, gambling...) so clubbing is not the BIG thing like in Ibiza

7) There is no beach in Vegas (which makes the day time a lot less interesting)

8) Unless you are in April, the weather in Vegas is never as nice as in Ibiza

9) Big time clubbing is relatively new in Vegas (hey, just about 5 years ago the Pure at Ceasars Palace was the bigger and better club in Vegas...)

10) There is a lot of “old person” in Vegas (for shows, concerts, gambling...)

Hard to believe (personnaly, clubbing is the main reason why I go to Ibiza). Where do you get those numbers?

I think it´s more, but not more than 20-25%. it is true that lots of people come to the island and never set foot into one of the clubs
