I totally get why some families would be drawn. it's convenient. it has all the facilities. it's aimed at people who just want a bit of a sun for a few days. it's not aimed at people who actually know anything about Ibiza or who even care. you could be anywhere on earth - minimum spends, astroturf, bumper to bumper sunloungers - but that's the whole point. you're surrounded by your own kind, and that suits a lot of people just fine. nothing there to scare the horses. obviously it's anathema to me but then I'm not the target demographic.

underground looks pretty ready to open...

How will it work with entry and max capacity issues with places like this? Limited tickets? Ready to push the button on booking either August or September but pretty reliant on being able to actually get in to places like this, Cova Santa, Blue Marlin etc.

It doesn't seem the English saying - 'Max Capacity' ever made itself to the small Island of Ibiza.

Maybe it did and it somehow morphed its way into the word 'Mas'

well, in the case of underground, if they have an official capacity of less than 300, then they can open for 150 people and tables only. that's the official rule.

all the outdoor stuff is the big question mark really because so far the government has been very unclear in regards to them. I actually think they haven't made a distinction so far.

am just preparing another ibiza update post in the other thread but as mentioned various times before, I'd advise people not to have high hopes for 'real' (official) clubbing this summer at this point.

Am I the only one who thinks nothing will open as we knew it before.. tables and chairs as we joked about for years on here.. thats not going clubbing...

I'm in two minds about this.

in a way I also don't think clubbing won't come back the way we know it until a cure/vaccine is here. I am more than sure dancefloor action will come back once we have that, I don't think the 'tables only' thing is here to stay, but as mentioned previously, I think it's currently one of the only options to open a club 'safely'.

on the other hand switzerland hasn't seen any spikes yet despite having indoor clubs open with dancefloors. at the same time though, almost all other spikes around the world have been caused indoors where lots of people congregated for a prolonged time so this takes me back to the above comment really.

and no, I can't see any goverment going for a 'let the young ones live and only protect the vulnerable' system currently.

Thanks Stivi. I realise it's impossible to say anything for sure at the moment. I still want to visit the island and it'd be cool to go to the places like the ones mentioned above (my clubbing is usually indoors). My only worry being if it's only 150 people allowed, potentially a slim chance of getting in and much higher prices. I'd be going with the usual open mind and excitement but if we were to get there and that happened we'd be gutted

Haha yes that's what i'm getting at really, will the doormen count the people going in and simply say right that's enough at 150 or will it be a booking system? ?

I'd say - if you are going to Ibiza with clubbing in mind - you'll be disappointed this year. But absolutely go to the island do other stuff

I can’t imagine that Ibiza will be sparse enough to comfortably enforce these rules.

What would be nice to see would be places adapting to the seating idea by matching the performances appropriately. This could give room to more live acts and people playing instruments.

At least in an evening setting anyway.

In times like this, when most of the free summer magazines won't even appear (or will be published online only), here comes a surprise...

"a new magazine that has been designed to help bump start local business. With Correos and Government support New Era Magazine (Ibiza Town). Will be launched in July and San Antonio in August"

... Zoo Project-related, apparently!

My kids have loved 'Surf Lounge' since it opened and they're awesome at surfing but this is just another place that has been ruined for the @intsagram generation
