*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

And all the inflatables were present because people were either going or coming from the beach...
They were also some inflatable in dc10 and spac
how was the party before the police came ?
Someone from the forum was there ?

Bit sad was happen at the end imo ! It’s very very rare nowadays that a rave party don’t get trouble with the Police ...
They were many party in the campo in the north in the past but they don’t do it anymore because the police always take the sound equipment ( which cost a lot and the organizers are not very rich and can’t afford to buy new equipment every month , they just do it for the love of the music !

I went to elrow at space and enjoyed it, I wasn't there strictly for the music just the party experience and mostly because it would be my last chance to go to space one last time before it closed.
I went to elrow again in amnesia as part of a stag party, it's a stag party type of night.
I wouldn't willingly go back but iv nothing against it or pretty much any genre.
People take things too seriously

There were a lot of animal costumes etc and inflatables in DC10 back then... Including some worn by fairly high profiles DJs who had played Space the previous day.

Is there not an age element to all this Elrow debate? As in young'uns are a bit more open minded?

I went a few years back at Amnesia and it defs wasn't for me. It felt like forced wackiness, but my tolerance levels would be low coz i'm an grumpy old cynic
I think everyone in agreement that as it went from bcn to vista to space to amnesia it just became more and more commercial and therefore less credible with music lovers and with that also a reduction in age/change in clientele.
I don't know if forced fun is the correct term although I absolutely understand it, it's sold out week after week so the demografic that go must be having fun.

Totally agree. Age and some people just like that kind of thing. It’s the current version of what was the water party / foam party / live sex show. What I do find odd is how they have invested in a lot of djs that are very well regarded in their genre (not much of which interests me) but that the music is so secondary.

We went to elrow in its first year at vista on the back of free tickets. I can’t quite believe what it sounds like it’s become but fair play to them. Not my bag at all but it’s nice to see something popular happening on a Saturday night. Now it needs a bit of credible competition.

Says it all really. Never understand why people just wouldn’t go the pub or see if a mate is having a birthday party?
Because I was in ibiza, in playa den bossa, on the night elrow was on, and my flight home was the next day, and space was closing a month later.
And I enjoyed it ?

What I never understand is why people who have nothing positive to say about the current ibiza continue to post on forums and try belittle people for having different views.

It is called having an opinion. I continue to visit Ibiza, have done so for many years. Therefore I feel I am entitled to provide an opinion on things (and people) that have significantly impacted Ibiza.

Quite a boring forum if everyone just agreed with everyone and there wasn't healthy debate on the state of things.

the age-gap on here has probably never been bigger - there are maybe 3 different generations simultaneously writing on here. Those at one end inevitably have nada in common with those at the other. it's difficult to get good debates going because a lot of people will often have no idea what you're talking about or resent the debate being had at all. I'm sure there are now people coming on here born in the 21st century, who have never heard of manumission or in some cases don't even remember myspace. so how do we have any meaningful dialogue when we are essentially martians to each other?

this is why it is game over for the likes of me. we are being shunted aside by alien lifeforms and there is nothing we can do about it except convene at places they would never go to. So lets protect those places for as long as possible (or at least until the last man drops).

You are and I value your opinion, your ibiza past pictures are brilliant, and I actually share most of your views on music/the scene,,, but I don't need to try and belittle people that disagree.

There's plenty of healthy debate on these forums but I usually wouldn't class most of your posts in the healthy debate category. Which is a shame because you clearly have greater knowledge of ibiza and music than most people myself included.

I'm 35-40 years old. I think it's all about what you tell yourself. I like to try different things.
I went to Drift, Cutting Heads, Circoloco, Prydz, Pikes for the music. I go to Elrow, Woomoon, Zoo Project for the full experience indeed....meeting fun people of all ages, doing some crazy stuff with the entertainers.
And again, limited DJ's? This year alone I've heard Adam Beyer, Joris Voorn, Kolsch, Loco Dice, Ilario Alicante and Jamie Jones at Elrow Events.

Feels like I'm fighting against a common biased opinion on this forum...that it's not cool to like Elrow or it's not cool to go to a themed party instead of going to something more underground. I do agree Amnesia in July / august might not be the best place to experience it fully. Too busy and the stag party feeling I can understand. I would suggest to try Barcelona once in your clubbing life then.

I know @Dirk Bigler personally, he's genuinely a decent nice guy. I think the written word may be slightly misconstrued here?
