it's probably another one of those changes that was a long way coming. I still think there is some room for trance on the island so let's see what happens.

My mistake - meant the Main Room!

I hope Trance can find it's way back on the island... Maybe on a smaller scale such as Eden/Es Paradis? Although, it will not be the same! Still relatively young I love trance and the deep sounds of PVD, Aly&Fila and some psy - I was in attendance of ASOT Festival two weeks ago and must say it still alive in some areas of the globe - if not Ibiza!

Looking like a techno heavy holiday now.... on that note - desperately awaiting Cox news!!

I guess I'm just trying to understand why 'tech' enjoys such a stranglehold over the dance scene when other forms of dance music are trailing behind - is it just a fad OR is there something more to it?

maybe because "tech" sits somewhere close to the middle of the house/techno spectrum? People will find it more accessible than the sound that sits at the opposite ends of those genres?

it's usually that the music being made suits the drugs people are taking. at least, it's definitely never the other way around.

i'd say that trance was a genre out of the limelight long before his orchestral stuff was kicking off

very true all of the above. I loved the old trance. just got tired of it when it all got vocally and so over cheesy.

tbh, some of the stuff dixon, solomun, tou and sven play comes close to trance. just a little slower and a bit less cheesy - but just as epic hands in the air stuff.

Proper love Sven, find him a lot 'trancier' than most trance DJs these days.
He's less about the epic drop, compared to most trance DJs who have every single track with a big drop or massive vocal. Less dance music, more stage show music now.

Great news thanks. Cox might not doing Tuesdays though as well as Cocoon on to Wednesdays 2018 is the year of change.

When i first heard Cream was leaving i wondered about A&B hosting their own night could of been something like 'Ajunabeats' Room 1, 'Ajunadeep' Room 2...obviously not in Amnesia if Cream couldn't get the numbers. I think something like that would very much have a place still in Ibz (but im out the trance scene so could be completely wrong)
