I dont take drugs either.

Alcohol/Holiday Nicotine / Caffeine - yes

Theres more of us than you think

Um - all technically drugs no????

Just ones that have been legalised by the government and society due to the fact that they have been around for eons....

Cocaine/Pingers etc will all become legal once older generations die out and people generally find it acceptable.

Anyway have gone MASSIVELY off topic.

Its not a competition... i couldnt give a toss what people get up too, but FGP clearly does and i dont think its the legal vices hes referring too

I love Cocoon - I am really into the music there (especially the Beyer style of techno) and it is such an epic way to finish a trip as I usually go for a long weekend.

Do you think though that the earlier closures of these clubs has effected attendance? Closing at 7pm seems a bit pointless to me if you are competing with Circo Loco. One of the best things about Amnesia was the sun coming up...
Adam Beyer set (& chris liebing) was nice the time i saw him, in hyte ibz 16 i guess
To see the sun in amnesia terrace, party have to end 10h00 midday

Amnesia opening Closing ok, Music on closing ibz 17?
elrow ended early ibz 17 7.25am
Cocoon Closing i guess 7.00am
Hyte closing 7h00am.

a closing party is not really "one" if the end is same time (7am) as other parties all summer...a few end at midday eg Hi Closing, Heart ibz closing, Solomun Closing, Privilege closing amnesia closing.

ps:5%is a big number, u may be part of the 5% (statistics from people i met :D), i do believe all of u that don't , but not really lee11s, my 6th sense , u may have another definition of dry ginger :spank:

drugs are indirectly relevant to this thread in so far as some clubs may now be starting to target a more ‘respectable’ clientele, therefore impacting on the music policy. didn’t someone on here say that Hi is as dry as a desert? is that deliberate reflecting a new moet not mdma culture? i’d also be interested to know how many people get on it at children of the 80s, flower power, craig david etc probably very few. if there are fewer drug-fuelled parties than that 5% figure is probably an underestimate? the state of the drug market is usually a good barometer of what’s happening in the clubs. maybe i prematurely wrote off the underground last week but it all ultimately depends on whether the next gen still want to get (as) fcked up on holiday - and the promoters will be monitoring that

I disagree with those saying that Cocoon needs to change. For me it's one of the last nights with a genuine focus on the music and atmosphere, rather than with all the instantaneous gratification crap that has come to be associated so much with the modern day Ibiza. Sven in full flow on that terrace is the best clubbing experience you can get on the island Joe that Space has gone, in my opinion.

I went to the closing this year and there is no denying that it is suffering from the restricted hours at Amensia, though so perhaps a move wouldn't be the most outlandish prospect. Would be a massive shame if they changed the programming though.

I know we should go back to gossip, but one last word on cameras.

I think they should be banned in all the clubs (just like VIP areas). I heard that the vibe at Hï closing party was pretty good last year and one of the reasons is that less people were filming the DJ all the time (so partying harder and better).

Here in Montréal the best electronic club in town (Stereo) bans filming, VIPs and bottle service shows (fire works). The vibe is always perfect and focus on music and hard partying.

I think clubs in Ibiza shoud only have limited areas (far from DJ boot) where cameras are not banned (so the kids that hardly wants to post on FB are able to do it).

Didn’t they let 2ManyDJs play the closing last year? I.e. they weren’t playing 60s music for the first time ever?

Did anyone do the closing last season? How was it received?

I was there. It was a very nice night. Everyone was dancing. Most people were locals , I think. It was a surprise date. Officialy flower power was closed and over. Will remember this night for a Long time.

yeah, but what about the music... was it the usual 2manydjs eclectic set or 60s/70s songs?

(i went to the official closing, the week before, and i was away for the extra date)

OMG. No wonder these nights are suffering...
Ha!

I think my excuse is I was always the designated driver back in the 90s, ferrying mates and assorted girlfriends around to clubs in my Peugeot 205. That was until it literally blew up at Woolley Edge services on the M1 on the way to Rise at the Leadmill in Sheffield!

on a side note, some interesting developments happening regarding phones getting banned at gigs, chris rock was the first and now Jack white seems to be following this line of direction.. could it be a sign of the future.. I hope so, my first year in ibiza 01, i’m sure there was a ban of cameras at amnesia..
Got camera took off me in cream in 2010. Couldnt understand bouncer when he took camera to a storeman. Thought they were taking it off me. Had to pay 2€ for a sticker n picked up camera on way out at 7

Most was really 60/70 s. For example : I thought of Revolver from the Beatles , 10 minutes later they played tomorrow never knows ( strange or not ? ). When I remember right , it was as vintage as normally. Typical 2many DJs set , only 10-15 years older sounds ( later I could not remeber , I was busy. There was a wonderful spanish women. I danced with her ,but I could not remember the Music , oh Boy.)
