Ibiza 2022 impressions

Had lunch at golden Buddha today, it’s a stones throw from the hotel. Service was pretty bad to be honest, waited 15 mins for someone to come and take a drink order so ended up going bar, which doesn’t really bother me but then they got arsey with me for going to the bar. Then the sangria came with no glasses, then the waiter forget to bring the glasses after realising. Then we had no cutlery with the food and ended up fetching our own. Wasnt overly busy maybe 30 people there.

Food was nice though and I’d be happy to go back, putting it down to a bad day/one off

The unspoken rule of Golden Buddha is to turn up with plenty of time and no other commitments. If you rock up just before sunset, you can forget about getting a drink in time, if you're even lucky enough to snare a table in the first place
A lot of it's charm is its slower pace. But, as others have commented, it's not known for it's speedy service. The cutlery issue should have been sorted quicker in any case

I often go to the bar to settle the bill. Yeah sometimes I get the impression they'd rather you didn't. Still, I'm sure they'd far rather you did that than walk off without paying

Mrs and mates had tickets for Amnesia last night, couldn't get a taxi from San An! Waited at the taxi rank for over an hour without making progress... Bagged it off for Es Paradise 🙃

I've only had this once before on a Saturday when I couldn't get a taxi to meet her at Zoo Project a few years ago. Couldn't get one to turn up at hotel near sunset strip, walked down to the taxi rank and couldn't get one 😔 She ended up at the Rave in Cave - still hurts 😫

Went in a few weeks back for some food and drink early afternoon. About 4 or 5 people in there and we waited for 15 mins and no one came, got up and walked out eventually. Was borderline taking the piss i thought.

Had a late lunch at Golden Buddha on Sunday. Got served quickly and food came in a reasonable time. I'm not very patient so may have been a little proactive in getting them to us. It's a great spot, but probably best to be prepared to wait, or be a little less reserved than we usually are, if you are UK-based that is

Waited an hour for a taxi in San An yesterday. SUCH a buzz-kill. Luckily we had nowhere else to go really as sacked off going to Below at the W

Don’t know is if it’s changed but i would rarely use the taxi rank in San An unless I was walking past and it was empty.

There were always people getting dropped off at Cafe Del Mar/Savannah/Eden/Es Paradis (depending on the time), so you nab the taxi there

Booking was a nightmare in July and the ranks weren't great but, as you say, didn't have any problems flagging them down at likely spots

Interesting. No idea where all those people queueing miles outside the UK airports are all going then.
A lot are going to Turkey and Greece at the moment. Turkey was open for a lot of the pandemic and is still relatively cheap to drink etc
