*** ibiza 2018 observations ***

How can you dance on k? I took it a few times but couldn't think of anything worse than it in a club situation..or are you even getting k at all...

That is what I am getting at - those that use it are stood swaying and looking at the ceiling. If they are not looking at the ceiling they are looking at everyone around them and just getting in the way. DC10 is by far the worse for it

I’m by no means a nostalgic type, but I am slightly nostalgic for the days when K (and even Coke) wasn’t so prominent (I know it has always been there, but it was never so prominent). It just feels like the days when groups of friends randomly met another group of friends and became best friends for two weeks seem to be gone. Everyone was feeling the love at 6am on the Premier Etage [Space], everyone was talking to everyone else. Does this happen as much now? I am not so sure. And this is NOT just an Ibiza thing...

My mate said a few years ago: "you used to bump into a stranger on a night out, get chatting and by the end of the night they'd be your best mate. Nowadays, you bump into a stranger on a night out and you have to talk them down from wanting to knock you out"

All the times I have been to Ibiza and only had one confrontation and it was DC10 main room

Italian/Spanish looking guy would not let me past/drop his arms to let me past. Whilst this was happening I was getting bumped about as he was and he looked so very angry. I suggested again I wanted past him and he again refused to allow me through shaking his head so I Just forced both his arms down as he tried to resist and I pushed past his disappointed angry face. Which was unnecessary on his behalf and not what you find anywhere else in Ibiza from my observations

Security are massively hot on those consuming - beaming lights at them or sneaking through and continually catching people consuming I have seen it happen a dozen times. Hopefully it continues and puts people off using once word gets around

The stand out nights I have found for those dancing is Together / Cream.

From my experience in Ibiza, at the right parties, there is still really good, lively and friendly atmosphere within clubs where you can make friends and enjoy the night with people around you. I certainly haven't ever come across anyone being aggressive in clubs or fighting etc and for me that has always been one of the best aspects of clubbing in Ibiza as opposed to at home in London or Essex where it can often be the complete opposite and very much in line with what @white_isle_calling said above.

For the most part in Ibiza it seems that people are either feeling the love on pills/md or they're so wonky on K that the last thing they will be doing is fighting or being aggressive - which is how it should be! Although I do completely agree a club full of people on pills/md would be a lot better than those who are overdoing K or using coke.

Speaking for my own group of friends for our trip in July we've made the decision as a group to keep the K indoors for daytime/after hours use and try and stick to pills/md only in clubs... we will see how much we stick to that when we are there, as that is easier said than done :D

Strange why does it make you look at the ceiling?

I have been working on the island for a decade now and have been living all year around for the last 7 years, I never ever got into an aggro situation myself. I have seen it from afar yes but sort of always ask myself how this could have happened.

Another observation from Amnesia both Music On and Pyramid: the security are hot on stamping out people videoing on their phones this year. Being on your phone for shazam or taking a brief photo doesn't appear to be a problem, so far as I can tell. But if they catch you recording, you get a lazer in your face. And if you continue you will soon be approached and told to stop. One guy I saw last Friday was actually made to delete the video from his phone.

Ket craze killed off the London scene. The zombies also deflated much of the fun in DC-10. It's still probably not as obnoxious a drug as coke though ... super-egos popping up all over the place and then going defensive-aggressive as it wears off.... all too much drama for happy night out.

I would argue people are as big bellends on k as on c but i get what your saying

Great!

This is brilliant. I wonder if a promoter will ever have the confidence to insist on a sticker over the camera phone on entry? I think the likes of Cocoon or even Paradise could be the first to do this - both are confident enough in themselves to not need endless clips of their night on social media. It would become a talking point, and indirectly probably get you talked about more.

But I think you, like me, manage out potentially confrontational situations or avoid them in the first place. I guess it's a bit like being sat in your car in a parking space when someone slams into you. There are occasions with aggressive people when you don't have to do anything apart from be physically there at the time they get wound up to be on the receiving end of aggo. That's almost entirely drug or alcohol induced. In fact apart from a bit of barging and rudeness the only aggro I really ever experienced directed at me personally was being lifted up and used as a battering ram to push back a queue of people by a crazed out security guy who had clearly flipped and lost his sh!t at a Circoloco closing. I am pretty sure he had been at the marching powder that day !

Don’t think paradise would. Their crowd is early twenty somethigs and FB/Instagram is a great tool for them to promote on.

That's really weird. I guess they want ppl to discover the party on their own or don't want any incriminating evidence to show up anywhere

Strange why does it make you look at the ceiling?

No idea but I see this often - if they are not looking at the ceiling they will be facing the totally wrong way staring to the back of the room completely lost

These people are on a cocktail of drugs I would imagine including alcohol

I forgot to mention they also find them self sticking to you!! That is the most annoying thing. You gently push them away and they return with all their body weight on you it really annoys me. After about 3 or 4 times you give them a stronger shove then they look at you all confused, offended and annoyed like they were doing nothing wrong because in their mind they are so out of it they have no idea they are leaning on people
