ok going right back, IBZ spearheaded balearic beat, then 90s house (gat decor, beachball etc), then 2000s DC10 minimal/tech - always massively influential because people were coming back from holiday with their minds blown

IBZ was pivotal in driving dance culture worldwide but the rest of the world caught up - blame the internet, Berlin, festivals, commercialisation whatever but that influence isn't what it was

...but then again maybe I'm out the loop - maybe there is still an 'indigenous' sound if you like that is still getting heard in IBZ first? I'm keeping a very open mind here

I just had a listen to dystopya samples here, these tracks don't deserve a place in my usb key (even dj koze-pick up ), as i always keep tracks that won't bored me even after thousand listening :D
is this 2018 music offered to the mass , they can go to Hell :lol:

De la Swing etc are awful always were. Then they drafted in Eats Everything et al *Yawn* ... but I had a really decent night there when it was in Vista in its first year and everything was still fresh. What goes on now is nothing short of over-commercialized tat imho and the music has gone totally downhill.

Elrow only really worked for me as it used to be in Barcelona

Not seen him in a while but never disappointed when I did. He was never the greatest or ever blew me away but always enjoyable. In fact, back at vegabundos a few year ago I witnessed the greatest set I’ve ever heard. Not Luciano but Danton Eeprom, I’d never heard of him before but he warmed up for Luciano and was nothing short of spectacular, never heard sounds like it before!

I don’t think that particular drug and tech house go together at all, however yes it probably is most taken drug at those events but this imo is simply because those dancefloors are full of sheep and will want to be ‘wavey’ (like ive seen it described) as everyone else...

Shit music with a shit crowd with a shit drug;)
 
Ket craze killed off the London scene. The zombies also deflated much of the fun in DC-10. It's still probably not as obnoxious a drug as coke though ... super-egos popping up all over the place and then going defensive-aggressive as it wears off.... all too much drama for happy night out.

The truth? Yesterday wasn’t so good. Music was ok... not as good as last year, even though amazing DJs were playing... but, it’s very sad that all the kids (people I mean. I forget than I’m not a child anymore) are doing drugs, and nobody is there for the music anymore.
It’s so so stupid! Ibiza is amazing, the music is great, and people just come here to get f***ed up. You turn your head and you see kids taking Extasy or Trips or God only knows what they put in their mouth. Sniffing lines of Cocaine while standing on the dance floor... and talking. They don’t shut up! Like chicks in a coffee shop. Really! I f***en couldn’t enjoy the music with all the talking. And pushing! So... what can I say... I wish for people to just get high on Music. Like I do. And for DC10 to be like it used to be. All about the music.
I hope next time will be better
