I Won't Return

so i guess now that I'm not allowed an opinion, I have done the family holidays at restaurants and many lovely beaches and loved it every bit as the clubbing one's.

I went to radio 1 for the simple fact that i had never experienced it, i done cream fields as it was the first ever time in ibiza and wanted to experience it. my music is trance and always will be, cream @amnesia being my best memories by far. I used to love eating at Km5, l'elephant in san rafael. El chiringuito one of my favourites.

Beaches for me Sa Trinxta was amazing back in the day.

The west end is the heartbreaker of ibiza, no room for it and brings san antonio to it's knees. Loved Cafe mambo and del mar and sunset strip for me is the place i can just watch the world go by.

The prices now are beyond ridiculous and people can't seriously start to justify it. knowing that that plank from JLS got to play at mambo was a nail in the coffin haha disgraceful.

Wont be going back either for a while. Saving for a house and Looking at mexico in 2017 so cutting back the money you pay for a week in Ibiza i could have 2 weeks in Mexico. Plus there is better places out there to go, but obviousley wont be on par with the clubs. Maybe look at bpm festival over in Mexico. Changing for the worse really IMO Ibiza putting alot of people off. Ive done it 4 times. I will miss it, but life goes on.

Trance definitely isn't anywhere near as strong over there as it used to be :(

Trance isn't anywhere near as strong as it used to be almost everywhere !! A lot of people have 'moved on' to other styles and most of the new blood coming in seems to prefer EDM. There's just way too much money kicking around in Ibiza now, a great deal of it of very dubious origin. Dirty Ca$h brings dirty trash. But it has its bad points too :p :spank:

I will be returning for my 14th Year on the Island. It's changed a lot since I first went in 03 but it still draws me Year after Year. Roll on July

I'll be returning for my 25yr.. changeso_O there's been a few to say the least. .drink was always expensive in the clubs.2 mil back in early 90's for a beer in any the big 4..that was around 12 irish punts back then.

Completely disagree the west end serves a purpose and brings a lot of people to San an. I work on the west end from 3-10pm and yeah it gets a bit horrible after then but I actually like it in the day time.
Last summer they made the bars playing loud music shut the doors even before midnight and it killed the early part of the evening. Bossa is the heartbreaker if you ask me. Absolute shit hole! This year were moving permanently to Ibiza and living in San an. Cannot wait

Haha, actually judging on the deep house thing in London, it's that at the moment.

I have said it before. I will always go to Ibiza and try and find the real parties and go to the likes of Pikes which won't be matched anywhere IMO. But for the full debauched package of what Ibiza used to be like, Mexico is where it is at. EDM, VIP culture, greed and money spoiled most of it unfortunately, but it is still there if you look.

13th Visit this summer, cant imagine a year without Ibiza.

Seen lots of changes, positive negative but for me it's got a hold and there's no place like it.

Dirk - what's this Pikes you speak of?? Looking for new parties and your comment has intrigued me thanks

Pikes is just a super chilled environment MusicTank.....as dirk says - quality place to chill out

I'm struggling to justify the costs for early summer this year......

Did Mexico and Ibiza 2014, Thailand (with a few nights in Dubai) 2015......

Just for a price example..... (November) manchester - bangkok - dubai-manchester (emirates), 3 nights bangkok (5*), 6 nights pattaya (4*) and 4 days dubai (5*)....cost under 1k including transfers

Going to San An Bay to favourite hotel - 10 days is approx £700

Its killing me as we love the vibe in Ibiza.....but its starting to get a little pricey especially for drinks. Even £9 a beer in Dubai seemed reasonable compared to some of the clubs

Don't think I'm going this year either, been every year since 2008 but Croatia for me this year in June

Opinions again isn't it. I really don't like bossa anymore. Used to love it but last 2 years it's really changed in my mind. Im just a big fan of San an, hence why that's where I'm moving and not Ibiza town etc.

I totally get why people are disillusioned. Personally i like going in spite of the clubs, not because of them.

Looking at Sept 2016 - if harvey's back i'm there, otherwise will just see what squeezes are going

Not any more tbh. Flights were criminally expensive last Summer and decent cheap available accommodation is getting harder to find in Season. Fuelling much higher up-front costs with high expenses on the ground means the whole thing has got far more expensive overall, especially for shorter trips where flights, car and hotel add up to a hefty outlay per night on average.
I suppose it depends on when you go. I just usually go last week in September, fly from brum, flights normally around 140 mark. I've just. Been pricing up a week with the family in July in St eaulaia, (sp) abit pricey but to be expected at them dates.

I'm feeling the same. Stopped in San An through the 90's but then fell in love with PDB. Have started to enjoy San An more, especially now im old and really more into bars than clubs these days.. With the imminent death of Space I think my PDB days will be all but over after October

Are you going to the closing ? I've been humming and hawing but might get some flights as they are bound to be something stupid by the time the rest of the world recovers from Christmas. They'd better not muck about with the date if I do !!!!!!!!

By Summer, September flights from BHX or BRS are above £250-£300 if you want to arrive any time there's a car hire desk open - cost me over £250 one way to get home early even to a London airport last October and that was well after closings. It's now when you book more than when you go. Those of us who do last-minute were totally crowded out last year by inflated fares and a lack of flight capacity. Unfortunately, not all of us can plan our travel months in advance around allocated time off jobs or kids' school holidays. September & October flight prices last year were bonkers.

The bulk of my Ibiza budget nowadays is aimed at boats, car, watersports etc.. the costs of which very easily run into the thousands not the hundreds overall. Paying an arm and a leg for flights and hotels just makes other places much better value overall because Ibiza ain't cheap for water-based activities either unless you work very hard at getting things heavily discounted.
