I had to get this off my chest - my holiday sucked

hmmm i think ibiza is what you make it.I also think its slightly over priced but it wont stop me.To me ibiza isnt just about clubs i think you could take them away and its still magical. My summer holiday is the best every year but i need more so im going in march next year to see all thse gorgeous beaches that people write about ,and to find great restaraunts that im always to hot to look for.Cant wait

Oh dear8O I'm off to Ibiza in september ( 2nd-16th ) & it will be my first visit back their in 20yrs, unfortunatly it's too late for cancelling the holiday so i'll just have to grit my teeth & bare it:( . Thank's to the author of this topic for trying to dampen down my spirit's, however i won't let what has been written get in the way of what i hope will be an enjoyable time:D . Afterall a holiday is what you make it & i for one won't allow myself too get caught up in Ibiza's overpriced tourist trap. The missus & all our friend's think i'm mad for returning ( on my own:D ) but who care's what other's think!!! I say sod'em :x

I'm approaching 50yrs so will be spared the expense of getting into the overpriced club's of which i've no intrest in the type of music they play. Afterall, it's not real music is it?? Real music is played by the like's of Genesis, Santana, Mana, Gerry Rafferty, Pink Floyd etc, & even James Blunt:lol: why? Because they can all play real instrument's, unlike today's crap which need's not much skill at all.

As for the restaurant's!!! Before one goes into a restaurant they should look at the price's on the board before hand, it's all to easy too blame the restaurant's for being too price'y, but it's not there fault it's your's for eating in them. Anyone who complain's about paying pay's 40+ euro's just so as to sit on the bog later, is a fool but then that's their choice.

Anyway, i did find this topic intresting & everyone has a right too express an opinion so i'll leave mine until i get back, then i'll send in my thought's of the Island's change's.

Cheer's

Not a fair comment about the music 8O  Have you studied music before?

Music isn't just about some lardy-da lyrics and strumming a guitar.

Sorry Sirens,

i guess we are not of the same generation, as afterall, how many adult's approaching 50+ something like myself actually listen to the type of music that is all to frequently played in the club's of Ibiza ? As for studying music, let's just say i'm a hopeless  when it come's too playing the guitar, but an expert when on my grandson's keyboard:lol: as i only have too press one key and the keyboard does the rest!! Now where's the musical talent in that ??

I wonder what the like's of the late Jimmy Hendrix & co 8) would make of today's music scene??

no hard feeling's,eh!!:)

Don't get me wrong there is a lot of **** about, but some, some you can say is similar to classical music.

I think Jimmy Hendrix would be impressed with some of the music about and for me he is a great inspriation 8)

Of course no hard feelings

Dave's mate ;)

My Mum is 55 and loves house music. She goes to Ibiza every year and a huge part of her holiday is the music!!

Age is only a number and you're as young as you feel!!

its jimi not jimmy. jeez........

forget the music, he'd been shocked at people not spelling his name right:roll:

i beg to differ. i'm the same as age as your mother and if any of my contemporaries went off listening to house music and clubbing i'd think they were very strange indeed.

rather like if any of your contemporaries were mad s-club 7 fans (sorry i can't think of any teenybopper groups) you'd think they were odd.

Ok Sirens!!
I'll call a truce on this one as your right, not all the music is bad;) ( maybe i was a bit harsh ) as i have in the past listened too some Cafe del Mar & buddha bar cd's loaned to me by our younger neighbour's, of which i like'd too listen to whilst driving long distance's in the car. However i considered those cd's to be of the type for relaxing8) even though at time's i might of been caught tapping my finger's on the steering wheel by my  fellow passenger's:lol: & the love'ly wife thinking whether or not i'm alright in the head.

True, i'm sure that Jimmy Hendrix would've approved of some ( not all ) of the modern dance music today, but then he was & still is a legend, & i think he would've had great pride in knowing that he inspired other's:D

dia de fiesta feliz

Mayber they do think she is strange!

However the point I was making was that there are 50 year olds who do like music and enjoy going clubbing. I'm not saying that every 50 year old loves it but a few do. And I don't think that age should put anyone off enjoying any type of music.

so many young people say that. if my father liked the same music as me i'd be extremely worried that one of us was doing something very wrong. likewise if he dressed the same as me or went to the same bars.
it's a generational thing - house music is for young middle class white people (i generalise morbyd) - not 50 somethings. i wouldn't dream of mixing with anyone under 40 these days - someone on this forum asked only today 'what's the quickest cheapest way to get really drunk?' do i want to meet this guy? err no.
different generations, different habits, pastimes and music.

Oh dear how  !!! especially as at the time i was listening to one of his album's 'Jimi in the west', i reckon i need some new spec's:oops: hence why i'm blindmanskunk .

Thats your opinion-fair enough! I respect that.

However in my opinion (and my Mum's!) I don't think that age is all that important in appreciating and liking different types of music. I certainly don't think that it should be a hindrance.

Ok!! I've decided that as a one off i'll try & visit one of the club's when i'm in Ibiza:D, therefore i take it that Ibiza's club's also cater for the not so young as i don't want that my pacemaker pack's up on me:lol: ? Beside's, it'll be intresting too see if i still have the charm for pulling the ladies:spank:, though better not tell the wife:lol:, otherwise she'll end up getting time off from her work & coming out to Ibiza with me:cry:.
