oh 100% essential kit. where we live, you hear absolutely everything (and not just my snoring)... There are a few youtube channels which are pretty good for white/brown noise, atmospheric effects, soothing moods, to neutralise the neighbours

Mrs C goes mad as I sleep with the bedroom window shut, we've even had a bedroom divorce.

But im certain im not going to to listen to some tw@t on a motorbike trying to beat the land speed record, the Police helicopter or 24 year old "Josh" at the back knocking out bangers at 9.30pm when im trying to sleep.

I'll probably have earbuds listening to some sleep hypnosis app tbf, works when I stay in hotel rooms with the missus and kids, so can't imagine external noise could be any louder than when you've got the Buckley Brothers monkeying around next to you

Almost any background noise is fine in a hotel or at home, because I have had constant tinnitus for 25 years. Complete silence, especially with earplugs when sleeping, is sometimes really nerve-wracking. For this reason, even questionable, cheap hotels in the middle of a party street or bar area are just fine for me! 😁
