Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

I'd be pretty much sure all airline rules will be back-to-back with the country of destination. Any additional to legal requirements would not make commercial sense to them

So we are planning to fly from scotland on 14th. This is what I am understanding I have to do to get there…

2x adults fully vaccinated with over 14 days only need proof of vaccination and no testing at all?

12 year old needs pcr test 48 hrs before?

9 year old needs nothing (had covid but you cannot get proof anyway in uk) ?

Ryanair is very vague about their own personal requirements to fly, it seems to be only what the destination country is, is that correct?

Yes to all and antigen test now accepted which helps with getting the results in the 48 hour window. Passenger locator form plus Spain Travel Health app registration.

I wonder why the return to UK test you have to abroad is aged 11 and up, but the day 2 test in the UK is over 4? I'm not moaning about the cost, though I do think there is some severe profiteering going on, because I'm going to take my family on holiday I'm happy to pay to minimise risk for us and everyone else, but this bit seems inconsistent.*

*Granted that inconsistency has been consistent throughout!

Apologies If this has been stated and Ive missed it. But If we and my missus go to Spain, we will be both double jabbed, Im guessing our 4yr old doesnt need any testing, or does he?

This is the hidden problem, while adults are tested and quarantined, who's to say that the nippers mixing in the play areas won't bring home a variant?! Not saying kids shouldn't go abroad or anything, but it is a gaping hole in our defences, which would render all the protocols with adults completely useless!

To be fair though not sure how much cofid an infant can spread, but I understand that older kids up to 12 certainly can. So fingers crossed this summer!!

I’ve just realised that our test is at 15:30 today and we fly at 17:45 on Friday…. Which is more than 48 hours…. But I thought it had to be within 72 hours!?!?

Yes this is the part I’m struggling with! The 48 hour window is very small, particularly with pcr tests. I called up my Covid test company and they said that in the certificate they provide for the flight it doesn’t state a time of test, just a date.
I’m hoping the 48 hours isn’t strict and a test within 49/50 hours means getting turned away!

No clarity yet on how strict they will be on timings. The new rules start midnight tomorrow. I think its 48 hours from when the sample is taken to your arrival in Spain according to https://www.spth.gob.es Hopefully it is just a date on the certificate though. If they aren't satisfied a passenger has met all the requirements they can ask you to take a test on arrival. Maybe order up some of the government lateral flows to be sure before you go? They (usually) arrive next day. Also not sure if you're asked to provide your test result before boarding from the UK?

Complications arise when flights are sunstantially delayed or cancelled. Travel has been o restricted it isn't probably an issue, but as more flights are put on and more travel, law of averages suggests people will be caught out.

I'm planning on having my 72-hr test in Ibiza as soon as I can, but leaving a 6-hour window for a delay to my flight (which I think is 11.15am) so I'm flying back on a Thursday, so want the test 66 hours before, so I make that around 17hrs on the Monday.

Malta now not accepting the NHS app as proof of vaccination. I take it the NHS app is how Spain are accepting proof of vaccination?

I don't think they are, maybe in the future,if you have a print out of confirmation of it that would be sufficient

Possibly hope not but that's to expected
....more tourists more cases...stivi confirmed in the ibiza updates that hospitalisation rate low, vaccination rate high and its more the young that have covid
Hope your right. The UK Goverment are more interested in vaccination rates, hospital admissions etc and testing capability.

Hopefully it all calms down. Then again its not exactly calm here in the UK.

Yeh I hope so too...it does depend what the government are interested in, I think spain are interested in that as they haven't really back tracked,

let's hope the Balearics are too and not the case rate

Spain accepting the NHS app as proof. According to gov.uk - posted in case anyone else looking for this info

Just booked flights for Alicante to see my GFs folks. Cheap as. fingers crossed things dont get worse i.e. go to red , now to sort the testing :-/

So is it within 48 hours or 72 hours that you have to be tested prior to arriving. There's 2 different news articles in the last 2 pages with conflicting information about timeframes and PCR/Lateral Flow tests
