Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Ok so how is this supposed to work.....

1.2. Diagnostic certificate. You must show negative COVID-19 test done within the 48 hours prior to the arrival to Spain. For travellers arriving from the UK the only valid test is a PCR test.

Until 2nd July, in order to entry into Spain you do not need to show any health certificate. That is, you can travel regardless having any vaccination, or diagnostic certificate.

However, please bear in mind that before travelling to Spain (even in transit) you must have the QR code which is obtained from filling in the Health Control Form (FCS in Spanish) available in Spain Travel Health (SpTH). This rule is applicable before and after the 2nd July.

So if you arrive in Ibiza at 9pm on Saturday night you must be tested after 9pm on Thursday night (not possible) or first thing Friday morning. Most testing places only guarantee next day results by 10pm or midnight so i wouldn't be allowed to board the flight anyway.

What fuc.king genius thought that up?

Didn’t realise they’d changed the UK entry test again from PCR or antigen to PCR only. I don’t think a suitable emoji exists for me to insert here.

Quoted from Sky News ticker; Don't think there's anything we don't know except the date > nothing about the type of tests needed to return to the UK but at lest the NHS should be standard (someone tell Malta...)

Quarantine-free travel for double-jabbed Britons planned for 26 July - report
The government is aiming to have quarantine-free travel plans in place for the fully vaccinated by the first full week of the school holidays, according to The Times.
Under the plans, people who've had both doses of a vaccine will not need to quarantine after visiting amber list countries.
The relaxation will first apply to UK residents with access to the NHS, the newspaper reported, but it is also set to be extended to all EU citizens.
However, the Home Office is reportedly yet to decide whether COVID passports will be scanned before travel, at border control or through spot checks by officials.
The Times said the UK is also close to agreeing a deal with Brussels that will mean the NHS app will be recognised as a vaccine certificate across the EU.
Ministers have been hoping to open up foreign travel during the school holidays, under pressure from the travel industry, but have struggled to get it started so far.

We're scheduled to return from Spain on the 30th , I'll buy the Times forever if that comes to light.

Right so I cancelled my PCR for an antigen, nightmare. But now I’ve seen we can’t have antigen but I’ve managed to change it to a LAMP test which apparently is also acceptable? Absolute nightmare all of this. So gutted that by next week i would have been fully covered by my double dose. Problem is we can’t move flights because of restrictions on when we can take leave at work 😭

Testing and vaccination requirements for arrivals from the UK

From 2 July 2021, the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry one of the following:

  • documentation issued within 48 hours prior to arrival in Spain, certifying that you have undertaken a COVID-19 test, e.g. PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR, and tested negative. Antigen tests are not currently accepted.
  • proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival in Spain (date(s) of vaccination must be specified), with a vaccine authorised by the European Medicines Agency or by the World Health Organisation

So I won't need a test going to Spain as I've had the vaccine; so what test will I need to take IN Spain (Ibiza) in order to return home as it stands today? All the site below says is a "negative test" but doesn't appear to say WHICH test?
It's on the website....

Type of test

You must make sure that the test provider you choose can meet the standards for pre-departure testing.

The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.

This could include tests such as:

  • a nucleic acid test, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or derivative technologies, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests
  • an antigen test, such as a test from a lateral flow device
It’s your responsibility to ensure the test meets the minimum sta

The return to UK test can be a lateral flow, I believe, but you can't take and NHS one has it has to be certified by a private nominated firm.

The ones I'm looking at booking, they send you the test to take with you and then you have to a video appointment when you take it to certify the result
