Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

News this morning hinting that Balearics might follow Malta and impose quarantine on British arrivals….I would hope they would bring in PCR testing before quarantine….hope so anyway.

Then again with a incidence rate of 77 per 100,000 on ibiza perhaps a more rigorous testing regime on entry is sensible.
What so on arrival you’re stuck in a hotel room for x amount of days before you’re actual holiday?

Incredible news on the latest Ibiza updates that vaccines are now available for everyone 16+ from today. A huge achievement and a big step in helping to secure the rest of the tourism season.
Are they using the two dose or one dose vaccine?

Let's hope the two ... the 1-dose is only about 30% effective against Delta. With an influx of Brits imminent it's good to see vax expansion for all adult locals finally happening !!

I know a fair few people who have had their first jab but then caught this current variant. Its rife where we live atm probs know more people with it now than at any other time during pandemic!

It’s still too much hassle and too many “what ifs”
Im sorry for being negative folks.

Not negative at all - Absolutely spot on. There is a lot of hassle and there is a lot for people to consider which involves huge what ifs (even more so with the watch list) and financial implications, especially from the UK. Pain in the arse is the colloquial term nationwide I think.

Malta now only allowing fully vaccinated UK travellers in from the day the green list kicks in next week. That includes children over 12. Under 12s must provide a negative PCR.

Let's hope Balearics don't go with that. I'm long since double jabbed, but the missus is still waiting for her second and we fly Friday week....

Think you can be fully jabbed but still catch any variant, the job of the vax is to make sure you don't fall ill from it? Isn't that why they are still concerned that vaccinated people can still pass on to the unvaxxed - in which case we can pick up a new variant on holiday, not know and bring it back to the Uk and pass it on?

If so that would explain the test over here and day 2 on return which everyone has to do?

How long since her first? Think it’s only an8 week gap now, so might be able to go earlier?

Andrew Marr - BBC, suggested that despite being double vaxxed he had coronavirus lately and sufferd from a "summer cold" thus possibly concluding the vaccine didn't work. However, that's all he had, nothing worse (he has a heart condition) which suggests to me and many others that the vaccine worked 100% - prevented him from being very ill! I'll take a summer cold as a price to pay for freedom, holidays, relationships...

A few of my friends have been double vacced but caught it after lack of social distancing in the pub for Eng v Sco.

Felt like nothing more than a common cold they've said
This is why we get vaxxed and why Europe that are doing well in the vaccine rollout should be like usa and look at the death rate and hospitalizations rate rather than covid rate

If they back track when cases get high we will never progress anywhere

Someone just told me friends of theirs travelling back from Spain soon have booked pre departure lateral flow tests which they do via Zoom with a health professional advising. Is this a thing?
