Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Currently - but suggestion next step is for people who have had both vaccines (+2 weeks) will be able to avoid that
It's very confusing; but as I see it
1. Test before you go out (private)
2. Fill in Spanish form on their website
...fly out
...if fully vaccinated...
3. Complete test in Ibiza (private)
4. Fill in English locator form
...fly back
5. Take second-day test (private) back home.

Have I missed anything? No idea what those not yet having the full course do?

Could the Balearics "ban" visitors from mainland Spain yet allow visitors from other countries? What sort of powers do the Balearic governments have...here Strgeon can "ban" non-essential travel between England and Scotland (as can the Welsh government)?

er... that idea can fk right off. Leaving aside the hit on my own holiday plans, there's also thousands of people with family/work on mainland and vice versa

Don't need a test before you go out to ibiza (right..?)

Not sure that’s correct, I think the two jab thing is planned to allow those folks to come back from amber countries without quarantine. I believe testing will still be required initially

From ITV website

  • Balearic Islands
Arrivals from the UK into Spain do not need to take or test or quarantine when arriving into the country.

But all passengers arriving into Spain must complete and sign an online Health Control Form no more than 48 hours prior to travel declaring any known history of exposure to Covid-19 and give contact details.

If you are travelling to the Balearic Islands from mainland Spain you may be required to present a negative Covid test depending on the region you are travelling from.

Do you have to take a test to leave the UK though - which presumably you would show to the airline at check-in?

Not at the moment. The “watch list” issue is a bit of a pain. It’s not clear what they’re watching for? The delta? If so, that ship sailed months ago in the UK plus they’re all set to open everything including nightclubs in 3 weeks time anyway while it’s rife. Or perhaps it was a way to put a certain amount of people off travelling to avoid too heavy a surge of movement in these first few weeks of green?

Regardless, any representatives from the Balearics from former presidents to tourist chiefs that have been doing the media rounds seem happy with the current arrangements. Perhaps they'll need to introduce a negative test requirement if cases do rise as a way to avoid the Merkel quarantine suggestion. It’ll be an interesting few weeks.

I think I would take a test anyway before leaving the UK; on the grounds that my holiday is so short it would be worthwhile knowing I'm negative as I depart, spend the first couple of days away from peeps - hoping I don't catch covid on the aircraft - then having my 72-hrs "return" test as soon as it's valid and that should be negative, therefore I can spend the second half of my holiday knowing that whatever happens, I have a free pass home.

News this morning hinting that Balearics might follow Malta and impose quarantine on British arrivals….I would hope they would bring in PCR testing before quarantine….hope so anyway.

Then again with a incidence rate of 77 per 100,000 on ibiza perhaps a more rigorous testing regime on entry is sensible.
