Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Just out of interest, my holiday insurance company has emailed it's customers telling them that Portugal, an amber country, the insurance IS valid as the FCO still don't advise people not to travel there. So anyone wishing to travel from the UK to Ibiza should look at the current FCO advice - and take 10 days quarantine on return.

But frankly I don't think anyone here is attempting to travel out while it still amber?

One in five Brits willing to travel to an amber country according to a recent poll by Survation reported in the Guardian. Rising to a third of 18-24 year olds 'despite them being the least likely to be vaccinated.' Not that the vaccine seems to play any part in the UK travel policy compared to the EU, but we'll leave that there.

Chances of an 18-24 yr-old fully complying with quarantine??? Somewhere between nil and zero?!!

After emailing Eurofins again about my changed flights and the return PCR tests I received a (very basic) reply on Tuesday:
'If you receive your tests for day 2 and day 8, at the UK address, as long as the test are not opened they will be fine to use on your arrival into the UK.'

Then to my complete surprise last night I received two emails from Royal Mail saying my Eurofins packages were on their way. Two separate consignments - both were delivered an hour ago - just pushed through the letterbox, even though they were supposed to be signed for.
I'm not due to fly out till the 19th now 🤞 but I'm very relieved to have these in hand.

Also today Which Magazine published this article on dodgy travel testing firms - Testing firms fiasco

Just to be pedantic - I don't think any mail company allows signing during covid; they take pictures of the delivery!

Haha, yes that's true. But they usually take a pic when your door is open and the package is on your doorstep. All good anyway - I was just a bit concerned they would arrive while I was away if they really had to be 'signed for'.

Just my pre-return 72 hour test left to sort now. Oviously will do that when I'm out there. Planning to use Galeno in San An, just up the road from my hotel. Hoping their antigen test fits the bill 👍

Morning all, just spotted that EasyJet have made all flights from LGW to Ibiza ‘unavalibale’ aside from certain Saturdays in June and the bulk of July....

Looks fairly similar to last year when there where rolling cancellations. Anyone had their flights changed or cancelled who where due to fly in June or early July?

I should have been flying out today but BA cancelled all their flights for June to/from Ibiza from London City Airport. Now flying from Heathrow on the 19th June. Fingers crossed.
We are flying (fingers crossed) on the 9th July with BA, flights moved from Gatwick to Heathrow. Looks like Heathrow will be the major BA airport in early 'Peak' season for Ibiza. Slightly concerned as the majority of our party is flying EasyJet....

When where you flying?
From Gatwick on 7th, landing 8th. Just checking alternative options

Edit: moved that booking to alternate dates later in the summer. Looking at BA from/to Heathrow instead for that period

For the Brits - I've just activated my vaccination status on the MyGP app, simple enough - just add your photo. Mine looks like I'm wanted in 35 states so will probably never get into Ibiza, but it's a start.

Meanwhile - EU countries (so not the UK, thanks Brexit) are clearing x-border travel for fully vaxxed tourists. I can only sigh.

Not heard of this one- I can get my status through the NHS App (not the covid one) which is what we have been told will be needed to get into Wembley next week.

To be honest I'm not sure if the "NHS" app and the "myGP" app aren't one of the same. The NHS track/trace app is completely separate of course, and your status won't appear on that.
on my phone the "myGP" app is inside a blue box https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/mygp/

yes we had early July flights on EasyJet Gatwick cancelled yesterday … was already planning on pulling plug due to amber status so also cancelled hotel … now settled to further London based staycation long weekends instead ☹️

So I'm here :)

Been here since last Saturday and it's amazing. Flying out was very easy - as was passport control and picking up the hire car. I'm just about to organise my pre departure tests for next Wednesday so will let you all know how that went.

Here's a thought, Netherland's cases are falling week on week, so much so that the UK could place them (and Belgium) on the green list. Unfortunately because the UK's figures are rising - and despite the number of vaccinations administered - those countries have officially said geen toegang to the Brits.

Makes me wonder - if our case numbers continue to rise (even if hospitalisations don't) whether the Spanish government will do the same and ban any tourists from the UK vaccinated or not? So going green won't make any difference?

Side note - Travelodge in Brighton (yes I love my 6* hotels...) is charging me £85/nt next week, In August that jumps to £200/night! That's why I don't hol in July/August!! Although surprisingly here and Ibiza, prices drop by the end of August and the beginning of Sept, yet it's still sizzling weather (in Ibz anyway!) and the kids are still off.
