Football merry go round 09/10 season !

If he's so loyal, why didn't he turn us down straight away?

Plus he's now forced Chelsea to offer him a wage rise.
Nope, no new contract. Media made that up... just like the false story about Roman jetting in to LA to meet with JT.

Simple innit. Tabloids say to Terry & Chelsea, on this City story - do us a favour, say nothing - we can run a couple of weeks of utter tosh & we will watch your back on what ever it is you need to keep quiet.

I was talking to a Mail reporter about this last week. One problem is that it's summer.. the silly season... they don't have that much stuff to report about aside from friendlies. Then there's the fact that JT is the England captain in addition to his role at Chelsea. That's why it got so much attention.

It's also a factor of this 24 hour news cycle and the blanket coverage... If the press links you with something and all these player agents (i.e. scum trying to boost their commission at any turn) and so-called "friends" keep feeding the fire, you're put in a position where you have to make a public statement about something that you might not have had anything to do with starting.

I don't really blame JT for waiting to make his statement. He did it when he was ready. Of course I wish he'd done it sooner, not because I was afraid of him leaving, but because it would shut all the pundits up.

or the other reason I've heard is that we were doing it as a wind up to City, (same as the Glen Johnson and Liverpool incident) in retaliation for the Robinho debacle last season.

oh you crazy chelsea lot  you really had us going there!!!

I never said it was true, just doing the rounds that's all. To be fair the offer wasn't accepted so there was no need for Terry to make an announcement. Just because you believed what was in the papers don't take it out on us. As I have said, if you were in Europe I may have been worried but not that much.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

slowly, slowly catchy monkey!!!

p.s, if you read back my posts you will see that I NEVER believed for one minute this would happen!! ;)

I think Spurs are probably good enough to get 6th next season - depends on the likes of Fulham, Villa, Man City

I think it's premature for Man City to jump into the bigtime - the new players need to settle and I don't really rate the manager - I think the big 4 will remain the same - Arsenal probably static in 4th - real question is the order of the top 3 - whether Owen can get back to how he was, whether CFC can continue where they left off last year and whether LFC can make that final leap...
