Flights to Ibiza

I'm staying home due to work and dog, but.....Just got the wife and son flights from Liverpool third week in April for £48 each return on Ryanair. Add in 5 days all inclusive at the grand palladium in pdb for £250 each takes total cost to £600. However factor in teenage son not wanting money every day whilst off school, not eating from my fridge, plus not having his two showers a day on my water bill and the real cost is miniscule

Well their marketing and comms departments need to link up! This is the same Ryan Air that has just started an advertising campaign in UK called: Brexit Means Bargains.

I don't think any airline makes any money operating Ibiza....Very seasonal with a lot of competition and do the math (180 seats assuming it is full) and you realise most of these flights/planes are getting about 15k round trip. Then remove the air passenger duty from that.... I can tell you that the aircraft costs about 15k to operate there and back. Hardly any checked in luggage either

I would say be careful as what this then creates is an emphasis on capturing passengers at the boarding gate with slightly too big a bag and then charging you to check it in to create ancillary revenue

My brother bag was caught on the return ... Wouldn't fit the baggage gauge due to the plastic feet/wheels stopping it....He was stung €60!!! to check the bag in at the gate.

Crazy hotel prices and a weak £ really are putting people off this year - not seen this mid-August for years >>>

Something needs to happen with the prices out there. El Pirata Pizza in Ibiza Town needs to change their 18 euro ham and cheese pizza to something more normal. They could get away with it when the rate was 1.45 but at 1.06 it starts to sting.

I just went AirB&B for the first time. Let's see how it goes. £65 a night single own room shared kitchen/Apartment space just North of Ibiza on the road to Sta Eularia. That'll do in August ! Off to pack

I'm keeping an eye out on airbnb at present for September, or potentially October.

Must be said, October rates for hotels are cheap.

That crystal ball would have been handy a few years ago. I'd have gladly bought 10k of Euros
