Flights to Ibiza

You have to book the day the flights are released to get the deals

I work for an airline and this rings true...The ticket price will only increase however there are exceptions but not with an Ibiza route

Time and day of operation will make a difference to cost as well

Not always for Ibiza, especially for routes with several flights a day, e.g. the London airports.

I booked EasyJet flights from London Gatwick to Ibiza for August in early 2016 and they actually went down in price closer to August - to something very low like £33.

A little known guarantee EasyJet have is that if flights go down in price (not as part of a special promotion), you can phone them up and get a voucher back for the difference to use on a future EasyJet flight within 6 months. I've claimed for a lot of vouchers recently, so it's worth monitoring the price!

I remember this last year tbh. The odd August flights were very cheap indeed, say a month or so before. They were very random though and flexibility was paramount for a cheap sector.
South East often pay a lot less for flights, hence the weekend trippers. Spare a thought for us north of Watford Gap.:)

Very surprised at that to be honest.
August for any airline is the absolute peak of summer where airlines make a lot revenue so for easyjet to drop to £33 is surprising considering the tax from the UK to Spain per passenger is about £30...

I am not saying you are lying as airlines can drop prices but it doesn't seem right in August and driven as low as £33 last minute

Thing is with terrorism and airlines driving traffic else where. The Market is flooded so it is very competitive which means ticket prices can end up very low

it did happen, I saw it too with flights from MAN

getting a cheap flight home may have been a different story:lol:

I got my flights for the cheapest I've seen for years - £58 return (I think the return flight was £14 or something!) with Easyjet from Gatwick. It's the first week of June so a week after the traditional opening weekend so that probably explains the cheaper flights. Suits me fine though - cheaper flights and the island is a fair bit quieter!

South East = Cheaper flights

I must do a June trip sometime btw

Yeah I used to live in Manchester and the flights were usually a bit pricier but my biggest gripe was that the flight times were always terrible -e.g. leaving after midnight and then they would inevitably be delayed. BUT, trains to the airports in London are so expensive compared to getting to the airport in Manc (either by cab, train or bus!) so swings and roundabouts!

Flew from Prestwick (yes I know it's a hole) in 2015 at 0650 in August for the princely sum of £35. Granted it was Ryanair but at that price it was foolish not to! The return however was £150 plus back into Edinburgh. Swings and roundabouts really. It is what it is and if you really want to go back to the island then you'll inevitably find a way regardless of cost.

Well, that's what happened!

I was surprised too but I suppose there are a LOT of daily flights from Gatwick in peak season, so if you factor in the other London airports, you can see why there might be a few spare seats that they want to shift. Plus the rubbish Euro rate post Brexit inevitably put off a lot of people who would typically book later.

When I lived in Scotland and would fly to Ibiza from Glasgow, this would definitely never happen as there were far fewer flights.

Too much competition on the route and it isn't the most popular route but the airport broke records last year

Most of Spain and Portugal has seen a huge increase in traffic due to airlines avoiding Africa or reducing else where due terrorism

It doesn't really mean much to us because what you might save in ticket price you will pay for in hotel due to demand

Still I think Ibiza is cheap to fly to and stay at....it is the spending money required that makes it pricey. For why I go to Ibiza any way

Yup it happened. Brexit effect, wasn't it !

Edinburgh return towards end of May / beginning of June around £120 return.

Potentially looking at a quick 4 nights around these dates as well this year and it's coming in around £220 per person, flights and accommodation! Cheap and cheerful!

I'm already booked up for August but really fancy an early trip as well. Trying to round folks up for it is not happening though. Lots of people with too many commitments who can't just drop things and go. Might have to take the mrs with me! She's never been!

That's a really good price. It's really expensive from/to the London airports then, but I suppose that's due to the bloody school holidays!

I was surprised how cheap it was tbh. It's early on though which is probably why it's so cheap. Seriously tempting stuff!
