September last year was ludicrously expensive. Late booked flights set me back nearly £300.

Funny thing is, August appears cheaper than September. Don't get me going about space closing weekend !!!

Hadn't even checked August to be honest. Won't be able to get the time off work and there's a big hole in my wallet after just getting back! Would you say it could be cheaper booking last minute or is it just likely to get dearer?

Its hard to tell really. It might be better to wait a month if planning Sept as the prices can't get any worse!

September rarely gets cheaper - been like that last 3 years or so, by far the most expensive month to fly out and last-minute fares are stubbornly high. One of the reasons I took another break even though into August - flights £100 less this month than they usually wind up later in the Season. Only thing is the hotels screw you badly in August (don't get me started on boat charters) so it's swings & roundabouts.

Thomson have a load of discounted flights to Ibiza for the next 6 weeks. Most are 7-14 nights but it's worth a look if you're thinking of going soon.

Typical! Im on the Thomson flight at 7am , thomas cook put one out at 6am. Nobody gone for it so they dropped prices to £82 single trip! Gutted!

I booked back in June for Sept 4th from Edinburgh and paid much the same. Baggage extra of course so all in was £664 for two
