Films....

Hey all - my first post since joining :)

The 80s were great for comedies, Saturday Night Live gave us some terrific comics on and off-screen. Many with Tom Hanks, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase and Steve Martin are hilarious and worth checking out! :D

Welcome on board Steve 8), nice for you to join us!

Great comics from Saturday Night Live, no doubt.

Doesn't seem to be a current equivalent? I agree that there aren't many of the current batch of comedy films which make me chuckle.

In Bruges was probably the last film i watched where it was laugh out loud funny!

Quite fancy seeing this :

Mark - Watch The Guard - same guy as In Bruges - total Laugh Out Loud - (not quite Napoleon Dynamite but.....):lol::lol::lol:

hopefully some of these are on lovefilm available to watch now cos I hate the dissappointment of realising its for postal rent only and you've got your popcorn and vodka ready!

@ Lucky Luciano me, I can't wait to see it. I wonder if Mr Baron Cohen can outdo his 'gaybe in ahaving his picture taken in a jacuzzi next to a guy being rimmed' moment

I also watched Third Star with Benedict Cumberbatch (love a bit of Cumberbatch action) a great film - brilliant acting - cant give too much away but suffice to say I was moved......

Saw the Avengers over the weekend, pretty good and some laugh out loud bits also.

MILES better than Cap America which was pants

I didn't mind Captain America. It was exactly what you'd expect, an America patriot-fest.

Avengers though, was incredible I thought. 3D felt like they'd just tagged it on. Stark is just such a loveable character, Robert again got him spot on. I think Mark Ruffalo made a very good Bruce Banner too.

I agree the Avengers was a good films.

The Raid - good MA violent action film. Japanese suntitles but you hardly notice.

MIB3 - forgettable

Does 'Inside Deep Throat' count? Interesting documentary about the making of and the fuss surrounding the infamous prOn film.

Horrible Bosses.

Only reason I got it was I heard about Jennifer Aniston looking extremely hot as the dirty talking nympho dentist :p but despite it's predictable storyline, it gave me plenty of giggles too

Jennifer Aniston > Linda Lovelace
