Films....

This thread needs more arty-farty and/or foreign cinema. ;) Watched 'City of Men' last night, some sort of sequel to 'City of God'. Was okay, but then I remember thinking 'City of God' was just okay rather than the classic some make out.

Actually, it's not a sequel, but linked to a TV series spawned by 'City of God'.

Check out the Bob Marley documentary.

If you like CoG, Tropa De Elite (=Elite Suqad) is amazing, and even moreso the sequel.

Watched GI Jane on the weekend 8)

I would like to shake the hand of the person who came up with that story line 8)

Brilliant film and Demi Moore is ace in it :D

Watched Animal Kingdom on Sat night - thought "ooh Guy Pierce - like his stuff..."

This however was dark and not suitable for a light Sat night... :spank: (also dull):D

No way!! I thought it was fantastic, although a slow burner and pretty grim in places but defo worth the two hours.

What did you expect with danny dyer in it?

I record all sorts of crap off freeview. I think I knew it was gonna be terrible, but watched it anyway. :spank: It's not everyday you get to see Gillian Anderson stick a rifle up someone's butt, although it was a more tasteful film than I was expecting. I think her and Dyer must be the most mis-matched screen couple ever.

Last night I watched 'Uzak' ('Distant'), Turkish film. It's one of those films where not much happens (one guy wanders around for ages, looking for a job and semi-stalking women he'll never chat up), not much is explained and leaves with you the feeling 'life is $h!t', but I quite liked it. Didn't realise Istanbul got so snowy!
