Films....

Last House on the Left remake - can't stand the original, but thought this was pretty good, tense and brutal.

Series 7 The Contenders - I assume Film Four have been screening this and Battle Royale to coincide with The Hunger Games being released soon. Good film, rather funny and expertly takes the piss out of reality TV.

Was out when I was a teen and into horror movies, thought it was brilliant at the time. I guess it is like watching the original "Alfred Hitchcock - The Birds" compared to modern thrillers?

Have you seen [REC] or Le Horde? Great zombie films both!

Yes they are great.

I loved "Mutants" which is a French subtitled film too, really worth a watch.

I've got a big collection of obscure zombie movies, people keep buying them for me.

I was given "The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue" DVD recently, which sounds interesting too!

Strangely I don't really care for horror films, but a good zombie flick is hard to beat.8)

I wanted to get a T-shirt printed saying: "I love apples, me!", my very favourite quote from any zombie film ever (narrowly beating "When heaven and hell are full...etc")

I generally dig rough 70s/80s horror, but LHOTL is just a bit too amateurish and suffers from various moments of ill-judged humour. The only effective scenes involve the rape/murder of the two girls.

The remake was just better all round, good enough to make you buy the coincidence the plot hinges on and the revenge scenes carried far more weight.

Strangely, I love the original The Hills Have Eyes (Wes Craven's follow up to LHOTL), but really dislike the remake. It's rare I'll rate a remake over the original.

This is a good film.

Saw 21 Jump Street last night and it was F'n amazing! Very funny. Recommend if you're generally a fan of Jonah Hill's work.

Big, BIG reveal 2/3s through the film too which got the whole cinema gawping in shock :D

Ok-ish, almost ruined by Anne Hathaway's attempt at a northern accent:lol:, seems to veer from posh English to rural Irish, more than Yorkshire!

Preposterous in places, schoolteacher Nicholas Cage becoming a gun-toting, stunt driving lunatic, but good fun all the same.

I liked this. But then I like Clash of Titans, Gladiator, 300 etc and it has a bit of them all. The missus fell asleep.

From '92. Watched while hammered on ski holiday last week. Will report back after a sober viewing:lol:
