ElRow

Thinking of going to Elrow London in August -
Did anyone go to Elrow London last year? What did you think if you did?

My advice with any Ibiza night on tour, is it will never be the same! People kind of try and think they can recreate their holiday in London and you can't. The only nights I thought used to work well, were the old Circo Loco nights at The End - they were freaking amazing. And actually some of the Cocoon nights in London have been good. However, they just often attract a very young crowd.... so you never get that diversity of an event in Ibiza - and I think that is what is often missing with them.

If you like crowds of people that didnt even know what tech house was 6 months a go, poor stage design and typical british weather, then go ahead!

I went last year and it really was nothing special, wouldnt go back thats for sure

Yeah understand it won't be like Ibiza, couple of friends are looking for something to do for as day festival thing and we did enjoyed Elrow in Ibiza last year

How did you find the queues getting in, bars etc?
Expensive for drinks?

It finishes at 10pm, just go and find club night afterwards I guess (I'm not from London).

Are there any weekly nights in London that you'd recommend on a Saturday night that are currently running?

If youre not from london and youre there for that weekend then sure go for it, drinks were overpriced but as is every festival you go too nowadays, queues werent too bad if i remember correctly!

Fabric has outstanding line ups week in week out, so I think there would be your best bet!

I went last year on the Saturday. Edgy (not in a good way) crowd, didn’t enjoy it at all. Someone also let off pepper spray 20 ft in front of us at the main stage. Not fun. V young crowd, avoid.

I am really not that regular on the London scene these days due to travel etc. More likely I just attend one-off events. And most decent events are no longer in clubs. Great Suffolk Street Warehouse has a Guy Gerber party coming up this weekend. I do like the venue - it really is just arches under the railway.

My point. I don't want to sound a right old geezer, but this is just the problem with these events. As you get 35+ you really do appreciate the crowds and diversity of an Ibiza crowd (obviously less so at an EDM night). Whenever people try and say Ibiza is over blah blah blah, I ask give me somewhere else where a crowd is 18-60, across nationalities, sexuality, class etc all dancing together.

I wouldn't say terrible, but it was certainly not the best mix of people... plus entrance staff and bar personnel incredibly rude. What is wrong with these guys? You come with VIP Balcony vouchers, and you are treated like shite.

And one observation: I think it has become a sport with Spanish girls to rub their ass in your crotch and then THEY push you away for THEM touching you... Jesus Christ ... thanks for leaving me alone dancing
I didnt saw this post :D
Yes i heard staff are very bad (not securiry staff with me  they don't really check me as they know i don't carry drugs )
Yes music is not the most hypnotic i heard,u can't expect a lot from Tech house  i nearly pass out around 5 am  because of lack of sleep :spank: (im not really a fan of Set Troxler) , i went out to have a CoKe ,and waitress let 20people squeezing my turn, i kept really calm that moment  as having my drink 40mn later & calm down a guy that face same stuff but he was yelling to the waitress...

I was with french parisian couple, they left around 5h30am in order to be in a good shape for the next party, i spot 1 spotlight from my whatsappgroup, Hello!Goodbye! :D, then i spot a fench Guy met at privilege closing & stay together until the end 7h20am

Feucking rude italians, i was struggling with one guy & 2 girls , wanting to shove me from my place , 1 rst row under dj booth...at one time i told them Stop ur crap, or im gonna kick your ass! and even push 1 italian girl back as she had stole the place from asian girls quarelling with them, that were my left neighbours since these 3 italians sneak among us, u r nice to let 1 but then 2 want to sneak: rule of thumb, NEVER Be NICE ! u give the hand, then they took the all arm

Very well said @mr_why . . . 100% agree with you. I'll be 48 this Ibiza summer and no sign of stopping . . . I love it too much.

Having done many elrow ibz parties , all sat i were in ibz (opening & closing & 3 in august)

:?: Not sure i'm going to all elrow ibz this year, for closing for sure & only 1 max sat night, don't really know what i'll do instead of elrow, hotel pikes? Pacha Bob sinclar?Heart Ibza, ill see the best option once there :D

Same apply for Glitterbox, Closing for sure, one in august & will look for best option on a friday night (No way to pay 60€ to See Marco Carola  when u got some free parties that night...except closing Music ON...)

it's not i get bored from this party but i need some change that day.

i paid 35€ (70€ face value ) for Elrow closing 17  getting in touch with some bloke that sell 3 in the fb event, as he couldn't make it to ibiza.
When elrow tix closing will be released, rush on early birds otherwise u' ll pay full price :D

I personally prefer diversity of nationality to diversity of age.

nobody in their right mind over 35 wants to be in a room full of kids (and I'm sure the feeling is reciprocated..)

Personally it doesn't bother me being in an Ibiza club where many people are 20 years younger than me. I think the island has always been the place that removes barriers we otherwise see as a reason for not interacting with each other - age, race, sexuality, etc.

For me it's more about what attitude people bring to a club. A room full of happy people, all bringing positive vibes, all there to enjoy the night, all being friendly to each other, all being open-minded - that's what makes an Ibiza crowd - that's what makes the magic.

and then everyone sang kumbaya

...unfortunately the reality ain't always quite so happy, especially when some little shit barges past or doesn't respect your personal space

yeah i'm at Fabric once a month or 2. you're obviously not going to feel like you're in Amnesia but you make the best of it. XOYO and Egg can be decent too on occasion but their lineups don't come close to Fabric imo.

Elrow have just confirmed a residency at our new club in Dubai. Opens next week with 8000 capacity! We’ll see how it goes!

Dubai really up and coming it seems. Elrow announcement on top of that little BPM residency announcement kicking off w/Stacey Pullen i believe. Seems like it could be the next hot spot, but with little that i do know of Dubai, I have heard its very very expensive and also a long ways from the States.
