- Eden will be back next year -

Scanty, have you actually read the link you've quoted twice above?
That goes some way in explaining the situation, surely? The whole issue has been well documented.

Old skool djs, whether it be playing old skool music like a flashback sort of night or present surely once a month would work. Coco I'm 38 also and visit every year for the closings and the amount of people our age or older seems to be growing year on year. Eden is a great club and the right sort of nights would defo pull the crowds in aslong as it doesn't price itself out the game with 50/60 euro entrance fees like some of the super clubs charge.

I've never thought oldskool rave/hardcore/jungle works well in Ibiza.. I dont think the Helter Slelter nighst were very popular at Es Paradis a few years back..

But what would work is oldskool/classic house nights I reckon, Es Paradis should just bring back Clockwork Orange!

Wonder if the popularity of its one off last year has made them re-think their stragegy, no more Dj Sammy/Westwood/Twice as nice crap, and more house music nights!!

Has any night really worked at Eden in the past few years on a consistent basis? Not really. And also I know it has a banging soundsystem and looks great inside with the refurb but to me it looks too Vegas less Ibiza.

have you actually been inside?

Yeah for Toolroom, I mean Vegas in the sense of all the champers behind the bar, lighting etc ... When I think of Ibiza, I think Space, DC Terrace.

Just my personal opinion, I had a good night in there, but it has felt the least Ibiza of all the clubs I have visited. This could just be that it hasn't got the status of a Space, Amnesia.

But I am 21 and never visited Eden in it's hey day. Was there ever a season when Eden could have been regarded as one of the top clubs on the island? Bettering some on the big boys?

yeah I guess you have to go back a decade or more for when eden was up with the big guys. as liam said, JS was a biggie back in the day. I think the last 'big' residency was pete tong's wonderland back in 2008, they had a few really really good line ups then!

Yeh, that's the genre I'm talking about, house classics from yester year, I should of stated that. No none of this hardcore, rave etc, leave that for the festivals where it belongs.

I remember going to Wonderland at Eden late August 2008. Pete Tong and Fat Boy Slim. Place was packed. Best night I've had in Eden although I do remember a night Called Retro (northern house night if I remember with a residency at Tall Trees back then) which didn't pull in the masses but had very good music on offer.

So in case you missed it the 2002 clubbing calendar was posted on FB this morning.

Not a bad Eden line up on there! Also: afters at space. :(

and one more thing, which I lament; Look at the variety on that week: garage, house, classics, trance, hard house, d&b, oldschool, hard house, elctroclash, pretty much every genre you could wish for. Why do we have so much same same shit on now?!

Less genre top-trumps back then. People just liked what they liked. Not so much driven by trends. That's perhaps stating the obvious. Maybe a back-to-basics approach would benefit the San An clubs?

I defo would have struggled in those days to narrow down to choose which of parties and djs to go and see.

Whilst I am a self confessed Cox'y nutt. I love the hard trance sound too, look at Eden,s parties that week. Monster line ups.

Fast forward to 2012-2015 and we have massive shift to more tech nights than you can throw a stick at. In my opinion The Revolution is still miles ahead with Cream really being the only other offering for hard trance fans.

Judgement parties are not offering the same product as back in 2002.

Gatecrasher's mess up of Eden last year will have hurt the club but there is still alot of punters in San Antonio looking for some quality line ups.

Eden is perfect for the trance following in my opinion due the smaller scall and upgraded sound system.

Lets see what 2015 offers.

Just seen the "Perfecto - Pete Tong" at Pacha on a Tuesday in 2002! Anyone ever make it to that back in the day?
