Donald Trump

Only one way this is going and all i’ve had to look at is betting sites. Yday afternoon trump was 7/4 to win (£10 would get you about £28) Biden was 2/5 (£10 would get you about £14)

now the roles have reversed and Trump is odds on and trust me the bookies always know!
Swung again. Biden 4/7, trump 11/8...

It could go either way

edit: Biden now 2/5 and Trump 15/8.

Goes to show how broken democracy is these days. Playing on peoples fears to get them to do what you want that isn't in their best interest.

Was watching news program interview different people in USA and how they where voting. Lot of the Latinos they interviewed where voting trump cause they where afraid of Biden turning usa into a socialist dictatorship like the one they fled from. ?
(Facebook target ads etc saying such things)

Has an impact on uk and brexit. Apparently bojo would go for no deal if trump still in power. If Biden won, would make a deal with the EU.

Couldn't make this shit up ?‍♂️

Edit: he wants to stop the count as lot of states to declare have him ahead. Just the massive postal vote in those states to count would swing it Biden's way. So let's not count those right ?
Democracy is democracy, as it seems now (since it's still being framed as a tight race)...somewhere around half the citizens of the USA voted for Trump and I'm not surprised. Like I said earlier in this thread, Biden is a really poor choice. I've seen people saying that they would have loved to vote for a democrat but voted for Trump anyway because they have 0 faith in Biden. Also, polls have been wrong because of virtue signaling. You're a bad guy if you support Trump, if you question the public opinion on him you're a moron who 'doesn't get it' and people will call you a 'racist' while Trump is actually getting loads of Latino and Afro-American votes. Mirrors the Covid discussion, a soon as you question the strategy you're a conspiracy theorists and nutcase for questioning the draconic measures. So polls are way off this time and that is not surprising.

And playing on peoples fears is all politicians do and definitely have done for the past Covid-themed year.

Edit: to be clear on this, I'm fine with Biden as a winner if that turns out to be the case. But I'm not surprised Trump got many votes.
I feel the US loses either way. It deserves two better candidates in four years.

1/6 and 4/1 in favour of Biden now. The bookies have it ovee, they are very rarely wrong, especially at those odds

Once again, the pollsters got it wrong ?

?‍♂️

Most people knew the polls were crap, as I mentioned earlier many people that vote for Trump are not fully "Pro-Trump" and didnt want to be labeled by friends, family and coworkers, so they kept quiet. I live in a US jurisdiction that does not vote for President and is left-leaning, and I could see it, even here. Polling companies have a lot to answer for, especially as they made the same polling mistakes in just the last presidential election. Overstating/ misleading polls is a form of propaganda that influences votes in itself.

Its really a coinflip now.... I think we will know who wins this by Friday morning, BTW. No violence (more than normal in USA, anyway), predicted by me. Most of us in the middle are just 'over it' either way. It wasn't a landslide in either direction, so expect more gridlock (best possible outcome, IMHO).

I would seriously not know why I, as a person from The Netherlands, would hate him or state that he 'must be voted out' since I don't see him as a racist or a really bad president. I think the US has seen worse and could see worse in the future.

I don’t think it matters where you’re from to justify hating someone who is outwardly racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic and has caused such catastrophic divide over the last 4 years and will certainly continue to do so for the next 4 if re-elected?

Moving on.....I’ve had seriously sweaty palms all day. I was hoping it wouldn’t be this close but had suspected a surge of support from the quieter Trump supporters. My optimism is up and down like a yo-yo today.....right now I’m cautiously positive but aware that it could all change in a heartbeat!
