so if the benirras bar shuts, can't they just get new license??.. it's not like they had the same problem as DC10!!

unfortunately its not quite as simple as that

all i can say is that its been shut over licensing issues - its not related in anyway to dc10, kumharas, amnesia etc etc so kill those thoughts straight away

once i've got the *facts* i'll let you know because all ive got so far is hearsay - albeight from some people who would know

yes I figured this has nothing to do with dc10, kumharas... so that's why I wondered if it would be 'easier' to open if they get a new license

amnesia is in the municipality of san antonio, no san jose...am i right teacher???:p

yep - its nowhere near the border

if you want to work it out just find who has outstanding denuncias against them ;)

Bora Bora

If it is Bora Bora it would be sad as I have a lot of great memories from there. But as the atmosphere there has changed a lot the last two years I wouldn’t be devastated if it closed. People that come there for the first time love it of course as it is still a great bar and different that what you find everywhere else.

I’m pretty sure though, that the main reason for its success it the people who stay on PDB and around rather than the bar itself. If it closes down it opens for other bars around to grow. We would loose the brand name Bora Bora, but as the older crowd older crowd doesn’t like how it has changed and the new crowd can like any beach-bar on PDB with a great atmosphere I don’t think it would be a disaster if it closed.

This might sound really dumb, but why are they putting bans on the nightclubs? :?
xx

at the risk of stating the obvious - use a search

but in a nutshell (and very basic answer) early in the year san jose council decided they didnt like the idea of people staying up all day and night so they decided to shorten the time clubs could open - ie instead of being allowed to open at 8am they moved it to 4.30pm - this basically affected space and dc10 - the rest of the other councils followed suit - except that nowhere else had clubs that er opened before 12 midnight anyway

basically the guardia forced the govn hands because they were fed up with dealing with hundreds of arrests for possession, clubs taking the p1ss out of the laws, people od'ing etc etc

also they were fed up with the image that was constantly being portrayed around the world that ibiza was a place where you could come and party and take drugs 24 hours a day and do what you want

if you want to point a finger at anyone i would look at the idiots over the past 10 years who have brought this on

sorry - but thats just the way it is...

I know. it's ridiculous isn't it..... obviously no jetsetters go clubbing! :?

You don't get many jetsetters pilled off their heads and dressed insanely rolling down the street terrorising the locals...
the ones I've seen just sit around posing on yachts and spending scary amounts of money on champagne in the old town!

I think they wanna turn Ibiza into a millionaires playground (even more so) the way they are cracking down on the clubbing and building new 5* hotels & health spas etc

I wonder what it will be like in 5 years time?

true, but what I meant was that its not like the 'jetsetters' don't indulge or go clubbing... so I wonder why getting jetsetters to come to the island is any better than the clubbers
