whilst on the subject of wankers, a newspaper in Sheffield has run an article on notorious Gatecrasher criminal Simon Raine, one of the most repulsive people ever to be involved in music

Were there two Simons involved? We rented a place in Brum from Booking.com in the summer for a night (mrs + 6 year old). Got there, place wasnt ready and no one to meet us. Found the key, went in and it wasnt ready. Owner turned up, said he had taken it off marketed because of damp but hadnt cancelled our booking by accident. We were there, he said he would refund some money and get bedding etc whilst we went to a restaurant.

He never refund the money, kept delaying, acted like a twat over messages. He was called Simon, one of the Gatecrasher owners, place was full of their awards from GC and Ministry of Sound

Simon Raine, Simon Oates & Scott Bond were the original 3 I believe. Only Raine has anything to do with it anymore. Bond runs Rebooted now, from what I hear he won’t ever return to GC due to Raine and what happened at the last GC event in Sheffield.

Yeh with Picotto & Halliwell headlining. DNA who are advertised have just pulled out but not gone into detail why. Pay the headliners but f*** the up and comers over seems to be the business plan.

Obviously no details on the incident or who was involved. A couple I know who dj together werr playing, a night where the promoter had loads of b2b2b2bs. As they came on, there were loads of people in the dj box, previous djs + them, owner of the pa/sound system came into the box, kicked off worrying about his equipment and laid into my mate. 30 seconds of rolling about, PA dragged away and my friend got up in time to mix the next tune in and continued their set 🫠

Just came up on my feed. Proper black eye, someone needs sorting out unless he threw the first punch. DJ line up easily searchable so should probably name the culprit as he's said a DJ whacked him and unfair on the rest

The Secret DJ should have a word with Nick Gibbs who interviewed people on all sides for The Ibizan after Gatecrasher's abortive takeover of Eden. Not only did Gatecrasher rip off the workers there but they kept hold of their NIA's despite promising to give them back preventing the workers from working anywhere else in Spain. Proper scum.
 
Gatecrasher is a lesson in how some club busineses work. Bottom of the power chain get ripped off constantly while headliners get paid, lending credibility to fraudsters and attracting new people to get scammed with their 'fame'. At some point someone with some clout gets knocked and calls it out.

Lots of well known DJs have worked with the same promoter in London for decades, getting paid while knowing he fleeces a new generation of want-to-be DJs and promoters year on year. The Cross and Pacha London were busy under this model for the whole of the 2000s.

Yup, given the tweet is from a mate of the DJ doing the punching, it's hardly an unbiased view.

Didn't know he'd been accused of rape (Fat Tony, not the bloke who whacked him, to be clear), but internet doesn't seem throw up a conviction, just interviews where he says he'd been wrongly accused.

No doubt he's probably an annoying fool from some of his own accounts, but that's about it. Not really sure why anyone would think taking to the net to laud his attacker, even if they are your mate, is a good idea.
 
Plenty of comments around the net claiming FT was being aggressive and threatening, but that's not what the video tweeted above shows. Unless he somehow became considerably less confrontational just before the bloke smashed him, those comments are just defending a particularly nasty assault
 
Follow a lad from Bristol/SW on insta where there seem to be a thriving scene of free-parties still 🙌

Know there are a few crews doing it around this way Manchester/Lancashire/Yorkshire but understandably difficult to find out about them. Nothing but respect to the people who do it around here, for no financial benefit.
