Yeah, 2 kids too though, always the chance of them picking something non- CoVID up that might give them a temperature
The temperature test is beyond ridiculous. Anyone could easily have a raised temperature by having to run to a gate, because they are harassed or because of poor air con. If that is the standard that is going to lead to missing planes or even isolating, it isn’t going to be a risk worth taking to go abroad if you need to get home for work or whatever reason.

Instant pre boarding Covid testing is the only solution here, but the logistics of doing so maybe prohibitive. If so, we will have to wait for vaccine passports for mass tourism to recommence.

Those bendy buses are as warm as Hell itself in summer, whole plane would be quarantined!

At least with Wales acting like this, it makes our rules in England not look so harsh.
In fairness I think the rules here in Wales have been pretty reasonable.
To some extent we've had it a lot easier than England. The past few weekends the city centre has been stupidly busy so the announcement today was expected

Although we are in T3, I'm hoping to be in T2 soon, and my local has stated that we will have to order a meal, even if we only want a coffee or a coke. Not sure whether that's their policy (to make money) or whether they are misinterprating the rules; I think it's the latter as they have indicated they will "check".
If it were widely known that you CAN pop in for a soft drink or bevvy, many of us might do so to support them financially. We could even get the quiz league started again, most are driving so only drink pop.

Meanwhile, been waiting for news if we can have an air corridor (and no temperature checks) between UK and the Balearics, thought it was on the cards? Mind you, flights are very scarce, there's next to sod-all in January from the Uk to Palma.

The local Irish boozer which everyone from my school/football club grows up in has just announced it won't be opening on December 2nd as the food rules make it impossible. They've said see you in the New Year, but you do wonder if it'll put them under. Our friend who was the landlady for 15 years, sold up a year or so ago - lucky escape

Mini vodka bottles in my pants and sit there all day ordering lemonades

Here in Bristol sales of 'scotch eggs' have gone through the roof ,now it is classed as a meal .!!

People are just getting real fatigue with all the Covid.. do s and don't ..changing every week T1 + T1 T3 T4 ,FFS. People have no money coming in Let alone planing, time away to the White isle . #Longlivedc10
I've read that some pubs are doing starters for £1, mains for £1.99....almost like a 'food tax', to be able to order a drink!

Dont wish to disappoint, but in T2 you can only order drinks in a pub/restaurant/bar when you are ordering a "substantial meal"
When you have finished that meal you cant order just drinks.
So here's my plan for the weekend trip out for my birthday

Aperitif - Anis/Pernod
Pre Pre Dinner drink - Double Gin Tonic
Pre Dinner Drink - 330ml Bottle decent lager
Starter - White Wine 1/2 bottle
Mains - Red Wine 1/2 bottle
Desert - Desert wine
Digestif - Double malt
Coffee - Liquer with cream (any spirit as won't be arsed at this stage)
Small Milk Tart snifter with final bill

Kier Starmer has confirmed Labour will abstain in the vote. Correct decision, now isn't the time to create chaos by having the Government lose a crucial vote.

I do think this period of goodwill is coming to an end though, further votes in the new year will be opposed I reckon.
Yes, fair play to them if they put party politics to one side. I suspect they are playing the long game though. Let’s face it, they know the government will continue screwing up and they will look for the best opportunity. I wonder if they will target the vaccine roll out for this. Either way, the abstention isn’t what I expected but it leads to a positive outcome, even if I don’t agree with how the tiers are determined.

Me ... every single red eye trip to Ibiza ... because even if I stay up all night before driving to the airport I'm backing out of the house having packed everything but the kitchen sink in a panic and still can't get there early enough not to be late through security
