Only a matter of time before there's unrest here in the UK. As I've alluded to before, places will have to start opening up to release the pressure, especially the inner-cities where open space isn't available and families are cooped up in small flats; or people will simply break rank and make the situation far worse.
We are gonna need controlled environments to let our steam off in.
In my case, I'd like an evening in the pub, people sat apart with at-table service (so no standing at the bar).
Cricket could start with fans separated (not difficult!).
Yes to cricket starting ?. One of my guilty pleasures is having a sneaky work from home day at the Oval on a sunny day. Just bring a laptop and your set. It’s usually empty during the week other than for the T20 things as no one seems to like proper cricket anymore. Looks unlikely that will be happening this year though.

Additionally, I'm a fan of the Wimbledon tennis.

My Missus is totally puzzled as to why I like watching it ? giving that I never play it, or in fact even understand the rules ?‍♂️

Its just nice to watch sometimes ?

Gutted its not on this year, bloody coronavirus ?

Glad to find a fellow cricket fan on here! latest from the Guardian is they are thinking of postponing the "hundred" and trying to play county's 20/20 and some championship cricket in a shortened season. The quote is "they want to give the traditional audience something". Funny they never thought of that when they dreamed up the 'king Hundred.

2020 cancelled....roll on 2021
2019 was virtually cancelled for me ? so I'm feeling doubly pissed off. The only time I've had available was February when we were hit by gales and storms. I'm beginning to think I'll never get out again....

Note - I've contacted my June holiday hotel to see if they can shift the booking to October or even next spring to save the nightmare of getting money back off Mastercard/Insurers.

thats a shame.....at least I had a good 2019

when this is finally fully over you will have a real party ?

How does everyone think they should finish off the footy season? I think I could cope with this if there was at least some football on the tele ;)
It's going to have to be a void season I think.

Or give Liverpool the title then no relegation/promotion.

Best case scenario is the remainder of the season is crammed into June/July behind closed doors.

Talk of a 'football hub' at 3 grounds in the midlands over a month. 3 games per day behind closed doors, all on tv, all players and staff corona-tested before it starts. Make sure they dont lose their tv monies!

Not sure about that one personally...

So yeah, 40 million not much worse than normal seasonal flu... ?

Not fun. I guess we will see when all of this is over and we are pulling up our panties.

Apparently, 55 million die each year of all causes. So I wonder would that have nearly doubled the death rate or a subset of the exiting death rate? I read the article, but there is no mention. She did say that good distancing measures would/could "save" 38 million, so maybe she means that COVID fatalities would have been additive deaths? ?

They do have tests now that can give results in 15 min... but they would need to be tested before every training session too.

Ha. You must be a Liverpool fan. How can you award them the title despite not mathematically winning it, but no promotion or relegation?! Fortunately all the professional leagues in Europe are committed to doing everything to finish the season

I'm not a huge football fan, but as there's so much money riding on the Champions League, promotion, relegation, betting etc (what happens to everyone's bets?) and it really can't be completed before summer - restart this season in August/Sept, finish it to a conclusion inc. FA Cup, playoffs, that takes us to November...then have a break and re-start with a half-season in January (no league Cup) so teams play each other once not twice.

that also means the Euro cups would have to be shortened -maybe the Champions League could start in February and be one-leg straight knockout...and by summer we're back in kilter???

In the interest of fairness they should finish the full season.

Talk of a second wave would mean further disruption for next season, possibly voiding again with a similar scenario would make the arse fall out of it completely re tv money, sponsorships etc

It's a pickle alright...?
