I fully get that people can be sceptical on the vaccine and respect their decision, but its just hard to fathom why from people who are so pro at getting normality back.

Euros... stadiums and beer gardens packed with punters... ale and piss flying everywhere... cant wait 🤩

Well that's because to me...normality is not being forced to get the vaccin or getting a negative test every weekend to be able to live a normal life.
Or still going out with a facemask because we are not sure yet the vaccine really helps.

But we'll have to see how everything turns out. Also...what I'm reading right now about the new legislation coming up in The Netherlands...even getting the vaccine does not even exclude you from taking part in the Test-society that is shaping up. So as long as we don't exactly know the effects of the vaccines on contamination...even with a "proof of being a good human" you still need to get quick-tests for just about everything that was normality.

btw how much carnage is there going to be on June 22nd, England football in the euros....😂

"how we've missed England football fans" (said nobody in Europe ever)

I have to laugh sometimes at people that say they are not happy to take a vaccine as it's 'untested' or 'they don't know what's in it'

yet are happy to ingest all sorts of powders and potions bought from Dodgy Dave in a pub car park or someone random stranger on a club dance floor......

😂

yep... not just drugs either. if people only knew what really went into those budget meals in supermarkets...

*in mainland news, of interest to Greg 1183 and nobody else, looks like we're allowed to travel cross-provincia at last. Never underestimate the influence of the 'second home' lobby...

While I also respect anybody's decision to be sceptical towards the new vaccines, it does feel a little to me like you're going out of your way to find anythng COVID related to complain about.

As stated above, in most places it is very common to be turned away at the club door because e.g. you're wearing the wrong shoes. I don't hear you complaining about the fact this is taking away your freedom of footwear-choice?

Granted, that might be a little tongue-in-cheek. But the fact is, "normalities" change all the time. Look at how the world changed after 9-11 as regards to international travel and all kinds of different areas (camera surveillance to "protect from terrorists", etc).

Change happens. "Normality" changes all the time. Not always for the better. But we all have to get used to the fact, that what is normality today, might not be so tomorrow.

This is good point, I know we are concentrating on travel again but after the possibility of liquid bombs on aeroplanes we now have more security. Ball ache - yes but accepted.

I think you've missed the point. Wearing the wrong shoes has nothing to do with your own health concerns. The issue people have with the vaccines is we dont know for sure if they're safe, and if you're young and don't need it then why take the risk?

Or even worse....

attend Elrow:eek:

How do you know the food you eat is safe? Or the water you drink? Or would it be fair to say, you assume that both are without a second thoughts notice

Why wouldn't vaccines be safe? What would anybody gain from them being unsafe?

Just curious to understand where you're coming from

Most don't think they are safe. Everyone knows there's chemicals in food and water that aren't good for you. But the result of not having any is worse than the chems in the food. Personally I don't think injecting metals and acids into your body is good, but if its going to save your life then its worth it. Some vaccines are more vital than others.

Personally I don't get the flu vaccine, do you?

Still find it hilarious people on a Ibiza forum worried about what goes into their body

im glad someone mentioned what food you put in your mouth, the whole assuming people take loads of drugs but are worried about what goes in their body is a little baked. not everyone who doesn't want / prefer not to have a vaccine is scared someone is trying to kill them.. everyone has reasons, people should respect that

I think Elrow needs to get his leg over ...

I've never had the requirement too, but I'd be happy to take it if it was deemed neccesary for my health or the health of my nearest and dearest. I'm sure the time will come! My gf and some of my immediate family work in healthcare, so they all have it annually.

Not sure about "most". UK uptake is very high.

I guess what I'm trying to understand is, if you are sceptical about the data being presented now - what will swing it for you in the future? Will anything? Because the data is going to come from the same sources whether it's today's or next year's

As stated above, I know that comment was perhaps a little beside the point, sorry ;)

Also, no problem with anyone not wanting to take the vaccine. Personally, I don't take the flu vaccine, because I don't feel it is necessary for me or - and this is important - for the safety of others. If that were to change and because of overall health reasons it was now required to take the flu vaccine to travel, get into clubs (because of a dangerous "mutation" ;) of the flu) you bet I would gladly take it.
