I struggled coming to terms with how an unvaccinated person is any threat to ones that have had it
% of effectiveness is one relevant variable, you could have an elderly family member or loved one who falls into that category. That's one way to rationalise it if your in doubt. There are also some of the vulnerable all be it lower levels that cant have the vaccine.

Best way to view it is; its safe and it will give you your freedom back whilst protecting others in the process.

yeah true pal, tbh not gave it much thought of the fact not everyone can have the vax. I came to peace with the fact its for the better just initial thoughts were different

I really want to go early June, but will have only had one jab by then. Next one could be end of July and then half the season is gone.

My guess is Ibiza will demand both jabs before we can enter.

If they approve the Janssen one it's a single dose vaccine. That'll speed up vax certification for a lot of people late to the party on account of age. But it'll be a lottery. AZ really seems a lot better if you wait 12 weeks rather than rushing for an early second dose so if your priority is box-ticking rather than overall marginal benefit then Janssen is likely the best hope.

You'll almost certainly have had to have both doses of Astrazeneca or pfizer in order to rely on the vaccination certificate to get off pre-travel testing both ways. Missed the boat for early June now unless you get vaccinated in the next week or so and go for an early 2nd dose after 11 weeks rather than 12. That's assuming they even get their act together to issue certificates so quickly after travel restrictions ease.

*that Danish news story is worrying, granted (albeit inconclusive thus far)

No causal relationship established. It's likely as relevant as classing someone run over by a bus within 28 days of a positive Covid test as a Covid-related death.

If they start pausing the vaccination programme for 2 weeks every time someone vulnerable dies within x days of a vaccination they may as well just give the vaccines away to somewhere that'll dish them out now.

I have to laugh sometimes at people that say they are not happy to take a vaccine as it's 'untested' or 'they don't know what's in it'

yet are happy to ingest all sorts of powders and potions bought from Dodgy Dave in a pub car park or someone random stranger on a club dance floor......

😂

@FlatErik for someone who has vigorously stated the point that we need to get back to normality immediately, why are you so against the thing (vaccine) that will likely get us to the point you so desire?

Lockdowns dont work... that fair enough its your opinion, but on the whole im guessing youve largely played by the rules? Vaccines on the other hand, definitely do work... but youre extremely reluctant to go along that path?

Cant work you out...

As you can see I'm talking about social life as a whole that is being restricted if you can't show the green vaccin-stamp in your passport.
Okay, fair enough. In the UK, I find the discussion around vaccine passports for admission into festivals and clubs quite funny

Here a licensed venue can already turn you away for any reason they want* or, indeed, no reason at all. All accepting a vaccine passport will do is add one extra reason to a literally infinite list! I dare say nobody will notice the difference

*so long as the reason itself doesn't break the law

To be fair there seems to be a large chunk of people in Europe that are against this vaccine 🤷‍♂️. France/Germany/Holland....They all have their own reasons I suppose.

whereas we in the UK are lucky, pretty much everyone is chomping at the bit to get the vaccine in their arm, that's why (hopefully) on June 25th and 26th we will be at all weekend parties with no measures in place, whilst ravers in Europe will be looking at us jealously...

btw how much carnage is there going to be on June 22nd, England football in the euros....😂

I fully get that people can be sceptical on the vaccine and respect their decision, but its just hard to fathom why from people who are so pro at getting normality back.

Euros... stadiums and beer gardens packed with punters... ale and piss flying everywhere... cant wait 🤩

Travel and nightlife is a privilege. Vaccine passports won’t be around forever, but for this summer it makes sense. Nobody is forcing anyone to get vaccinated, but don’t complain when countries or clubs put them in place.

I happily took the yellow fever vaccine a decade ago when I went travelling in africa to get into certain countries (malawi, mozambique and zambia).

now, jab me up and get me to dc10 pronto!!
