Good man this is exactly the type of horny suggestions I need right nai
I think you have to remember that for once our government are in under promising mode. This never happens, their leader is literally know for the opposite. The unfortunate side of that is you see a lot of negative sounding news, with people jumping on certain cautious statements made as if they're fact, that impacts your mental health. But everyone would take that and everything opening quicker over constant promises that never happen and then reoccurring lockdowns because a lack of decisive action and incorrect messaging on the importance of this.
But currently we're going to meet the vaccination target even with supply issues and many days with very poor weather, meaning the elderly would struggle to get their vaccines. The next target is over 50s by the end of April and sources in the government have stated that this is once again likely to be beaten, early April is the word on that and looking at the numbers that's quite conservative too. Remember new vaccines will be coming online and we should be due 30m J&J in Q2.
Those numbers then show that by the end of April the 50s will have their first dose and pubs then should be a realistic expectation at the least, 12 weeks later - July and the over 50s will have as much protection as they will be given, with the majority of others having been given one dose and we should see as close as we are gonna get to domestic normality. Complete normality of course depends on other countries being vaccinated and no mutations happening before then, but the summer is definitely looking very positive here in the UK as it stands.

Also as a slight positive. Tracking the % of over 80s dying from Covid, yesterday (reporting date) was the first Tuesday in 2021 that over 80s as a proportion were under 50% of deaths here(Average 54.7%).
Correlation isn't causation, however this week is the week we should start to see noticeable vaccine effects, so it's a very good start and could be related.

Yes, Mostly relies on personal responsibilities. There are no curfews or limits on personal gatherings in your home. Masks are recommended during rush hours in public transport.

Actual rules
Bars/restaurants close at 8 (with max 4 ppl per table). If not followed, restaurants can be fined/closed.
Max no. of ppl in gyms/stores etc. 100m2 = max 10 ppl.
Ban on visits to nursing homes.

State-run facilities like swimming halls/libraries etc are generally closed.
I would sign up for a situation like that here right now! :)

I don’t like to spend too much time on this thread as I see and hear enough about Coronavirus as it is - but this article seemed quite interesting and positive for the UK’s current vaccination plans/stance

Great news! Poor WHO people only want to listen to them if it's news they want to hear 🤣🤣🤣

As i said at the time, Macron saying it was basically ineffective for over 65s to a country that is already one of the highest vaccine sceptic countries was unforgiveable and outright dangerous, more people will now not take the vaccine because of what he said.

They have only managed 2.5m vaccinations since the end of December. There's a time for waiting for every bit of trial data to come through and a time to get on with it based on similarity to JJ and the lack of negative outcomes in the older cohort that was included in the AZ vaccine trial.

Does Macron really think that it'll do France any favours to have an unvaccinated elderly cohort for months on end and setting back access for the younger cohorts and workers at this stage in the game ?

aha feel for yous lads, lucky the wife is a hairdresser but also does barbering so everyone at my work has had hater vison going throughout the lockdowns.. seen some absolute mops 😆
Maybe it's not a good idea to alienate your coworkers by sporting a new lavish hairstyle every week 🤣

A hairdresser wife must be worth her weight in gold these days 👍

😆Short back and laughed at every 2 weeks sometimes 1, rubbing it right in mate

Closing down barber shops is pointless as long as there are precautions. Hopefully all those business owners are being bailed out over there.

Macron just repeated what the scientists of the scientific French Council say.
And he's not the only one.
For the moment our problem here is not the sceptical people, but the lack of dosis for the people who want to be vaccinated.

It's a policy decision to go against WHO in favour of your own scientists I guess - and that comes with political implications and consequences. It's highly unlikely but in the event AZ were ineffective in older people that caution would be borne out. However in the context of the ongoing crisis and socio-economic damage taking place, such a defensive stance might prove hard to justify in retrospect. Each to their own where policy is concerned !
