I don't feel responsible for the health of other people

In the context of an infectious respiratory pandemic this pretty much says it all about why you are constantly arguing against lockdowns and restrictions. In the end this is all it's really about for you and the likes of you.

The total lack of any sense of social responsibility from people with your attitude is precisely why we are all locked down in the first place. With freedom comes responsibility. Without the latter you jeopardize the former. If you haven't joined the dots yet let me do it for you - you are the problem !!!

Cos your inbox is flooded with supportive messages from secret sympathisers, yeah? Underground Resistance 2.0

"Mum is in touch with this underground network of hairdressers who have been working from home."

FFS @Tourist !The first rule of the UNH is that you don't talk about the UNH!

Gaslighting. Emotional blackmailing. A really disturbing development and total bullshit.
"its your fault we are still locked down, you are the problem. The young people having parties are the reason I still can't see my parents"

Pandemic or not, you are still always responsible for your own health.
People are not the problem, the virus and the fear for it is the problem. We should learn to live with it instead of being scared of it.

Just helped out a guy across the street. We have had a heavy snowstorm here and his car was stuck in the snow. No one helped him cause people have apparently lost the will to make social contact out of fear. I asked him if he could use my help and he was like ..finally.
After we got his car moving again he gave me a good old hug. Please enlighten me again about lack of social responsibility from people with my attitude.

Elton, some of our views are the same, some miles apart but as a pissed up Brit right now that is under the influence I applaud your commitment to your own opinion. I would never have the stamina to continue even when I thought I was right!
that alone keeps the topic of debate going even if adds to all our frustration for whatever reason for which ever side we agree with!

Hally your biggest and most informed opposition I massively respect and although you too don’t agree and me sometimes with you both makes this thread worth coming back to!

keep it respect guys and then everyone can debate their shit without fear of speaking their mind!
Thanks.
And I totally respect Hally too. And others here too.
Some are pushing this too far and I feel this thread is too lightly moderated but perhaps that's because the moderators agree with the majority. But whatever...I'll keep going when I have the time for it.

We have had a heavy snowstorm last night here.
The government has put out new OFFICIAL rules:

- you can throw snowballs but only within your own household
- you can ice-skate on nature ice with 1 person but with 1.5 m distance
- ice skating areas or parks cannot be to busy or the mayors can close the area

🤣 I can tell you one thing, the Dutch government has lost it completely.

Agreeing with scientific evidence is been bias.

Responsible for your own health, do not breath other peoples air. Do not interact with anyone.

With that reply about responsibility I already mentioned I will keep a distance from others at all times unless they give a sign they're ok with just doing normal. Cause that's what it is right...social interaction, hands, hugs, kisses...normal behavior.
I refuse to get used to this abnormal situation.

It's from your own mouth mate - you feel no sense of responsibility for risking adversely impacting other peoples' health where they invite you to (and they in turn others etc etc) within a group of people who are together socially irresponsible.

It is the collective effect of those people which perpetuates prevalence and creates the conditions in which mutations can arise. It's precisely because all of you fail to understand that your collective behaviour and cumulative individual actions and choices put the whole of society at risk that the whole of society is under enforced restrictions. This is why you need to have your freedoms curtailed (as they are being curtailed now). Your little acts of defiance to those who invite you to are the very actions which viruses exploit. It's not hard to understand - you just don't want to put aside what you want to do for the good of the whole. By all means help the guy on the street get his car moving. But don't then go undermine your positive actions by inviting close physical contact that is unnecessary.

So in short, again, you and others taking the stance you are constitute a lot of the problem as far as controlling spread of the virus is concerned Saying if the other person invites to you put them at risk that is OK completely fails to understand even the most basic principles behind getting things under control and back to normal.

Nope, I'm clinically vulnerable as have crohn's disease, so my immune system is a bit loopy 😬

NHS peeps are proper troopers imho. How they keep going under such pressure is amazing 👏

Good to hear you have got your vaccine mate :D👍

Sorry if I missed it, but which one did you get?

Do you get a choice or do you just take what is offered?

My father in law got his yesterday, and it was the Oxford one, which we are all massively happy with. Feels like we are moving in the right direction when someone family member is vaccinated.

Also the majority of the teachers, at the school my missus works at, were vaccinated last weekend.

I keep hearing about more and more people getting the jab :D👍

Just curious - is this a local policy now up North ? NHS standing in the way of teachers getting vaccinated at my sister's school as people still have to be over 70 or clinically extremely vulnerable and let's face it that's not very many !

They in my part of the world are really cracking through the priority groups 1-4 and so picking up on people in groups 5-9 by looks of it already (I'm pretty sure I'm in latter block).

Nurse said last week they'd done all the critically vulnerable on their list last week (people with kidney failure and the like), so are a week and a bit ahead of other parts when groups 5-9 "officially" start as it where.

But could be wrong, just what I think is going on.

@Clara doesn't visit this thread, but her husband is still being refused a vaccine as a teacher it would appear

I’m not too sure how it all worked out mate, or who made the decisions on it.

My other half is the HR coordinator for the school and last Thursday she was thrown a last minute fastball from her boss to get all the teachers details onto a requested spreadsheet.

Apparently the school got told they would be offered vaccines over the weekend for all their frontline type staff in the classrooms (its a special needs type school).

And it all worked out 👍 only a few didn’t take it due to pregnancy if I think.

From what I can gather they seem to be doing alright with vaccines in the North East of England so far :D👍

Hopefully it continues like this.
