All the grandparents and old parents are not dying. A very small percentage is dying. And if it's your grandparent or parent that is harsh. I'm not saying it doesn't matter. I'm saying the measures are not appropriate any longer.

Sometimes it's a severe flu. Sometimes it's an outbreak of Noro virus in a care home. 2020/2021 it will be Covid. It sucks for relatives, truly.
But it's just not manufacturable with locking down everything for such a relatively small percentage.

Difficult to see on my phone but while you are right 75+ is the majority, 45-70 is about 50% of that number, so your throwing close to 20k in the U.K. under the bus as well.

in the US - 200k died 75+, 130k died 45-75

In the US, something like 40-50% of deaths are from nursing homes. Pretty large portion.

People are entitled to their opinions and views. They don't have to necessarily be an expert. They may just have a feeling things aren't quite adding up. For me, I feel every time we approach a period where we might expect a bit of positive news. There's something else they've come out with to extinguish any shread of optimism people might have.

Now I'm no Doctor. But not stupid either and don't believe this Government. Which is ironic as i shamefully voted for them...

I'm not denying the virus exists at all. Me and whole family have had it. However the cure has now become worse than the disease for a significant percentage of the population.

As I've said before PCR tests etc I'm not interested in. The facts are acute hospital system here and in other countries is close to failing due to coronavirus. No argument on this. When we get to this point no choice but lockdown

People can argue about test and trace etc but realistically all we can do at this point is socially distance until vaccine comes through

I neither like or trust the government. Media sceptical. Scientific body do trust

30-40% sounds like a big number, but we are dealing with very small numbers. Thankfully the one scientist used the example of 10 out of 1000 increasing to 13 out of 1000. Don’t even think that increase would be considered statistically significant.

The news headlines are running with it like it’s fact though. So yeah, fearporn it is.

They should have run with some of the reports starting to surface that shows this variant not being as transmissible as first thought.

Yet the narrative has been....flatten the curve deaths, Covid-ICU numbers and then around summer it was about PCR tests. The narratives changes from time to time...sometimes it's about the R, sometimes it's not. Now it's about the British variant.

Also, we've seen the pressure on hospitals before in 2016 and 2018...before Covid even existed.

There is/was still a big emphasis on PCR tests and, lockdowns and other measures were solely based on this before and after summer.

It is hard to keep up with stuff, know what is real/true as science is a moving feast as well as false narratives, bad actors & so on been out there.

So people need to add tools to their skillset that allows then to navigate this crazy world.

The above link should help with that. But it is hard work.

Myself I believe a little paranoia is healthy & trust nothing at first glance. You have also to check yourself time to time incase you also fall into the rabbit hole. ??‍♂️?‍♂️
