Noticed a lot of Z list celebs on insta are all sodding off to Dubai and "living it large" there. Guess they have less restrictions, just hope they require neg tests for travel then again few days after arrival?

And therein is the fundamental worry. The ICU admission median average of 61 is worryingly low. As I showed on the chart last week, if we get the top four priority groups vaccinated, these account for two thirds of deaths. The theory and hope is we can open society more after this. However, that still leaves one third and that is a massive number that is going unrecognised. The reality is that when society does open up, we will see a massive increase in infections for all none vaccinated groups as they mix. That will lead to more hospitalisations, ICU admissions and excess deaths. While the proportion of mortality will be less, there will still a lot of excess deaths outside the vaccinated groups by virtue of transmission being far greater.Yeah, you got asthma, could have lived to 80+. Sorry off you go and pop your clogs. 1/3 uk pop is classed as overweight. Bye off you shuffle.?
Also there are huge numbers of people who are cares for their relatives, so they would need to isolate.
Also interestingly half of admissions where for people under 60?(2nd article)
Glad you’ve finally seen the light ?f*** sake, let's not bother with medicine. I'm really f***ing hell, I'd be knackered and already in my box.?
"Deographic research suggests that at the beginning of the 19th century no country in the world had a life expectancy longer than 40 years.2 Every country is shown in red. Almost everyone in the world lived in extreme poverty, we had very little medical knowledge, and in all countries our ancestors had to prepare for an early death."

The final solution. ?Glad you’ve finally seen the light ?
Put another 20 years on your age, I don't think you would be so keen to promote these ideas.Interesting radio interview here with a former doctor and professor just now.
He says we can keep extending lockdowns without any perspective if we don't work on expanding healthcare instead of focussing on a virus.
Another interesting statement he just made...perhaps it's nature's will that we die around 70-80. Why would we want to become 80-90 per se?
We invest loads of money in 'making people older' but when they get sick...our health system collapses.
My mums 81, she quite enjoys seeing her grandchildren, great grandchildren and boyfriend. Hasnt expressed any desire to be dead that I've noted but may have missed itInteresting radio interview here with a former doctor and professor just now.

Don't forget on your next shift to tell all those in your hospital with covid [who are near 70+] that they need to take one for the team ?My mums 81, she quite enjoys seeing her grandchildren, great grandchildren and boyfriend. Ive worked for 25 years trying to improve the care for and lives of people living with dementia, the vast majority of whom are 80+. I'm sure I'm not alone in finding that post a bit disconcerting
Do you slow down for car crashes?Interesting radio interview here with a former doctor and professor just now.

Probably just behind him in rear view mirror, so would be speeding up ?Do you slow down for car crashes?
My Nan lived until 89, never really went to the doctors. She had carers coming into her house for the last 2 years or so at HER expense. Let’s face it, probably kept someone in a job.My mums 81, she quite enjoys seeing her grandchildren, great grandchildren and boyfriend. Could have worked til 80 in the local “post office” and paid taxes for all you know? Maybe she and her husband helped to save Jews in WW2?last week I saw a woman aged 101 in Germany getting a Covid19 vaccine...you could ask yourself "why are we vaccinating this woman?" without feeling guilty towards her relatives or being a bad person.
Not about my parents, grandparents. I've chosen to devote my working life to improving the lives of those who now need to take a lot more than they can give to society. I personally believe as a society it is our duty, responsibility and privilege to do soIt's an easy pitfall to look at ourselves, our parents, grandparents...
But in the bigger scheme of things, it's something to ponder about.
All over the world the healthcare is collapsing. This year in extremis because of covid19, but (at least in The Netherlands) flu season is a very tense period for hospitals every year.
If healthcare collapses...and we have to lockdown (and thus severely damage) the rest of society to save the elderly....perhaps we've been pushing this whole life expectancy a bit too far. I thought it was an interesting take on the matter, that's all I said about it. Everyone wants to see their own parents or grandparents become 90 or 100 years old in good health, but last week I saw a woman aged 101 in Germany getting a Covid19 vaccine...you could ask yourself "why are we vaccinating this woman?" without feeling guilty towards her relatives or being a bad person.
Just so I’m absolutely, 100% clear here- you’re saying that because of someone’s age, they shouldn’t be entitled to the same healthcare as someone younger? Thus putting them at high risk of catching the virus and passing away as a result. Some sort of state sponsored euthanasia program where those who can no longer contribute in a specific way to society are dispensable.but last week I saw a woman aged 101 in Germany getting a Covid19 vaccine...you could ask yourself "why are we vaccinating this woman?" without feeling guilty towards her relatives or being a bad person.
It's a dark path when we start to view some lives of more value than others
