One additional rule that is apparently coming in, is retail staff to wear face coverings as well as customers and face coverings to be made compulsory in taxis

A big group of celebrities in the Netherlands have launched a social media campaign with the hashtag (translated) #inolongerparticipate

With that they mean they are not complying to the rules and measures any longer. The group consists of actors, dj's, rappers, singers and tv show hosts. They give voice to a growing group of people here that are done with unnecessary rules without any scientific substantiation.
It's not a minority group any more, most people I talk to to...either people I know or by chance...are saying they are not sticking to the rules any longer. The credibility of our government is gone.

Just listening to this raft of new restrictions....Boris clearly not going for the popularity vote!

He had an opportunity here to say something like, 'you know what, this virus isn't going away, we are going to have to learnt to live with it. I don't care what the advisors say, they are only offering a prediction, an extremely gloomy one at that, so I am proposing a bold new approach similar to Sweden where we trust our citizens to do what they feel comfortable with. Lets get the fans back into the football, like Germany has started doing, save our grass roots sport from going bust, have some live music with reduced numbers and start living our lives again'.

He could have added, 'I'm putting my neck on the block here and if it goes tits-up I will resign'. Be brave.

But nah....wishful thinking of course...keep being scared sh*tless and Merry Christmas everyone!

This is exactly what's happening. EU leaders are scared to put their reputation on the line...in some countries elections are coming up and they've spent millions on a vaccin..they rather keep their citizen scared for another 6 months.

Distorted post as usual.

The action elicited mixed reactions, with some followers supporting the celebrities, but many others being very critical. "Join me for a day at the Covid department in Delft next week," a follower commented on Bizzey's post. She works at the Reinier de Graaf hospital.

Some fans agreed with these questions, but the celebrities also got a great deal of criticism under their posts

good!!

I may not agree with everything the govt are doing or the restrictions but its really irresponsible for celebrities to think they know it all and just try and get there fans or followers to not comply to the rules

Boris presided over the worst death toll in Europe, not to mention the fiasco with care homes. Far from being on the block, his head was already rolling down the street!

It probably is a case of over-egging the measures this time around. Damage limitation for not taking things seriously enough at the beginning

Classic line from Boris:

"Testing and tracing has very little or nothing to do with the spread or transmission of the disease."

Erm, I think you’ll find it does buddy. If you test the unwell, contact trace efficiently and effectively and get those who are actually infectious to isolate, then that is indeed the very best mechanism to reduce the transmission.

DJs, musicians whatever are way more politically motivated than the scientists making decisions. Laughable how you'd take their side over people that have been involved in medicine their whole life. No co-incidence some of the most vocal DJs were at the absolute peak of their careers and obviously (and quite rightly) annoyed about the lost opportunity / millions of £ they are missing out on.

You'd not go to a doctor, get a diagnosis and then email Stormzy and ask what he thinks about it

Nothing distorted about it. Off course it gets mixed reactions.
I just said there's a group of dutch celebrities who is raising their voice against the measures. And that it gives a voice to a growing concern.

And with all respect to nurses and doctors saving lives and working hard in march/April/may...that nurse telling the rapper to join her for a day at the Covid department in Delft will have to show him a very quiet hospital compared to the peak back then.

Praying that the gyms manage to stay open throughout the winter, already working on Ibiza body 2021 ?
Managed to weigh myself first time at gym for 5 months. Bang on what it was before lockdown at 80kg?, although shape has improved with home gym.

Which is shocking with my diet! (sweet tooth). Perhaps no fast food or takeaways is why?‍♂️
